The Slapshot – Nov 23

Too many NHL games tonight, that is just my personal take on the matter.  I like smaller 4-7 game slates but we’ll navigate through this without writing up every single damn team playing tonight.

TOP SPOTS…

CAPITALS

Dylan Strome, Alex Ovechkin, Conor Sheary or TJ Oshie (PP)

The Caps have two games a year which I always expect them to win.  One is their annual Super Bowl Sunday home game and the other is their pre-Thanksgiving Wednesday evening game.

It’s been a while since Ovechkin had one of those Ovi big multi-goal games but I smell one coming here as the PP getting Oshie back should help get Ovechkin going in that spot.  He had a goal and two assists two games ago vs the Blues and should do more on the goal scoring tonight.  Plus we have another round of Ovechkin vs Tortarella, which is always entertaining.

HURRICANES

The Coyotes are due to give up a 6 goal spot and Sebastian Aho-Martin Necas-Stefan Noesen give you full strength and PP exposure.  Carolina’s always one of those teams which is hard to stack because they get production across everywhere, but I would take a shot on them today.

PREDS vs WINGS

I think there should be lots of juice in this game and I don’t mean Saros (although he is expected).  The Wings return home after a long trip but have been playing well.  So look for Nashville to jump on them early and then Larkin is forced to do something on the come back.

NSH:  Ryan Johansen / Nino Neiderreiter / Matt Duchene

DET:  Dylan Larkin / David Perron / Dominik Kubalik

My Pick of the day

There’s obviously a bunch of directions we could go and no shortage of ‘contrarian’ go against the grain options.  None larger than Matt Murray who has the task of ending the Devils long winning streak tonight but the Devils probably have one more in them before Thanksgiving and then they’ll lose after that, so we stay away from there unless you want to consider Vitek Vancek for the Devils.

Spencer Knight (FLA) … Boston fired off 38 SOG against Tampa in a high paced game on Monday then after Bergeron got his 1000th goal they travel down to south beach, have a day off and have to play the Panthers before a Holiday.

Other Top Ranked Goalies

Danilil Tarasov (CLS) … The Jackets are bad.  But so too is Montreal who is coming off a wild high scoring game last night and one of the few teams on B2B tonight.  If we want to go off the reservation lets do it in a game where I expect the SOG volume to be good and we just want someone to pull out the standing of the head routine.

Martin Jones (SEA) … Want a 12?  How about a 16?  Okay, lets settle on 14.6….  Want to be asleep when your goalie is going?  Then you want Martin Jones my friend.

Alexander Georgiev (COL)

*** begin accent ***

Ahhh, yes…. You know Georgiev, no?  He sucka but he have a good team in front of him.  He goot for your DFS lineup yes?
