Week 7 of the NFL season kicks off with an AFC West battle between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs come in as 3 point road favorites with an over/under of 49 on the game in total. KC is in a bit of a funk and the perception is that they will not lose a third straight game and one to a team they are clearly deeper than. The game plan for the Broncos should be to mirror what Indianapolis, Houston and other teams have tried to do against the Chiefs which is ground and pound, control the clock and keep Mahomes on the sidelines. This plays into both Philip Lindsay and Royce Freeman being heavy volume plays in the backfield and logical Showdown picks.
For the Chiefs, they get to have Tyreek Hill on the field again as he shined in limited action last week hauling in 2 big touchdowns, but the big question for me is can we finally see Travis Kelce get going and back to that elite fantasy level tonight and he would be the star to get in the Captain spot at less than normal ownership tonight.
Favorites are in BOLD
Patrick Mahomes, 12,000
Phillip Lindsay, $8,800
Travis Kelce, $9,800 … If you play Kelce, do it in the Captain spot where I suspect most shy away from him today
Courtland Sutton, $7,200
Royce Freeman, $6,000
Joe Flacco, $8,000 … Yes, I am playing Flacco
Noah Fant, $3,400
Brandon McManus, $3,600
Harrison Butker, $3,800
Kickers and Defenses often get overlooked in Showdown but folks are catching on to their value and upside. Certainly with the altitude boost in Mile High the Kickers can get some extra length on their field goals and are good plays tonight with the QB’s on both sides of the ball. You are basically playing a floor spot here but if you are in cash or single entry on Showdown look to correlate your QB with a Kicker as well to lock in 3 to 4 points from each offensive possession in games where you expect it to be high scoring.
Chiefs Win 30-23
