Week 3 of the CFB season kicks off with a 10 (Ten) game MAIN slate on DraftKings at Noon. This slate does not feature two games which have been PPD due to COVID challenges. The games lost are Charlotte/North Carolina and Houston/Baylor. This slate also features the mighty Citadel and Austin Peay. Fun times.
So my quick analysis on this slate.
I am playing Chuba Hubbard (98.7% owned) and Travis Etienne (ehhh, lets guess around 60% owned) at RB. Done. Locked in, taking the 20+ DK points from both of them and then figuring out the rest. Why? Because Quarterback is not top heavy in terms of have to pay up for a guy who can get a 40. There’s also a lack of stud WR’s who are going to dominate the slate. So give me those two guys and then I gotta figure out the rest.
My process for figuring out the rest is to figure out a Team or Game to stack, but there’s really no game that I love to stack this week. So it’s a matter of figuring out the core QB-WR-RB or QB-WR stack that you want to roll with and then pray the game stays close with a player on the other side.

MUST OWN PLAYERS
RB – Chuba Hubbard – Oklahoma State
This is a no-brainer. Hubbard is arguably one of the top two Running Backs in the entire nation and faces a rush defense which allowed over 185 yards on the ground per game in 2019. The game script should be to get Hubbard over 100 yards and two touchdowns early as Oklahoma State shows good faith given the fact that he almost sat out the season and had a blow up with his coach back in July.
RB – Travis Etienne – Clemson
The chances that Etienne plays the second have are very minimal. Which makes you ponder then why is he a must play? I just don’t see a ton of offense on this slate and that has been a common trend early in the season with these College Teams who haven’t had enough practice time. So give me the sure thing of Etienne busting off a big home run touchdown and getting to 20 DK points before he takes a nap through the second half of this game. His ownership will be lower than you expect this week and going the double RB combo of Chuba and Etienne is the fastest path to secure a nice baseline score. The winning lineups this week will have the correct value WR’s, not sneaky RB’s.
STACKS
TEAM: Oklahoma State Cowboys
Spencer Sanders – Chuba Hubbard – Braydon Johnson
My guess for OSU this week is that they pound Chuba in early, getting him 150+ rushing yards and two scores. Then they let Sanders work on a bad Tulsa defense and get Braydon Johnson involved. Johnson had a big game late last year for Oklahoma State in their bowl game once Wallace was out and getting him some easy reps here should be a sneaky value play for DFS.

Kenny Pitckett – A.J. Davis – Shocky Jacques-Louis
Syracuse should just consider opting out of the season in my mind. They can’t run the ball, they can’t pass the ball, they can’t stop the run, they can’t stop the pass. Shoot, the only thing they might be able to do is cover special teams, but even that feels like a stretch. Gimme the value of a Panther stack at home.

I really don’t have a favorite game stack on this slate but it sounds like Boston College – Duke is going to be a popular one for many but I don’t see it fitting into my core builds outside of Deon Jackson and Noah Gray (Cheap) for Duke
POSITIONAL RANKINGS
QUARTERBACK
I was going to go Charlie Brewer for Baylor before that game got PPD, but now this slate of Quarterbacks is not that appealing to me. Both Kenny Pickett and Jeff Sims are extreme value’s on a slate where I don’t like many paths at avoiding paying up for the double barrel of Hubbard and Etienne at Running Back. I could see Oklahoma State piling it on with a couple passing touchdowns from Spencer Sanders after Chuba rushes a few in but beyond that I’m not loving a ton here.
