Get three homers, get a winning pitcher (or close to it) and you’ll cash most nights. Such was the case last night… We have the final non football Sunday of this short 2020 season today and what do you know, it is the first Sunday all season long where there’s no double headers, no weather issues and we have site syncronicity.
DraftKings Main slate locks at 1:05 PM EST and features nine games.

FanDuel Main slate locks at 1:05 PM EST and features nine games.

There are a lot of sexy looking pitchers today and no I don’t mean Robbie Ray when I say that. This is a slate that has plenty of choices to pick from as most of these day games are in mid 70’s type weather games and feature lots of aces going — so we can likely find a good mid pitcher to consider off of the top tier guys but the real challenge is navigating away from anyone who could get into a high pitch count spot or avoiding guys that aren’t going to get that critical win today.
Shane Bieber
Lefties in Cleveland only works if you can actually hit the ball and that seems to be a major problem for the Milwaukee Brewers. Getting to face Bieber today is not a spot where one should expect their horrific lineup to suddenly start making better contact. No matter what statistic you want such as swinging strikes, first pitch strikes, average pitches per at bat, blah blah blah, it’s all in favor of Bieber today and his extremely high price tag is definitely justified.
Patrick Corbin
Nobody will look at Corbin today with a sane eye. He’s facing a white hot Ronald Acuna and a team who murders LHP typically in a park that plays extreme to hitters. So what in the world are we even considering here? Sundays. They’re weird and the Braves do strike out so don’t be shocked when Corbin has gone 6 innings with 7 strikeouts today and limited damage against a team who is going to mentally sleep after a long week of raking.
Rich Hill
I hate Rich Hill but he’ll pitch well today against a bad Tigers lineup. Couple HR spots could get him into trouble but Hill is a mid range value play to consider on DK. Outside of him you are either punting w/ Casey Mize or taking some big gambles IMO.
GUYS I AM NOT ON
- Nola/deGrom: I have this game going over and Bieber beating them both, so next question…
- Tyler Glasnow: Not a great match-up honestly. Marlins aren’t a strikeout team like they used to be and I know Glasnow strikes out everyone but he’s a trap play today IMO…

Chicago White Sox
Tim Anderson, Edwin Encarnacion, Eloy Jimenez
Scrolling through the games today, checking out the pitching match-ups sipping my coffee and then BAM. Wind gusts up to 20 MPH OUT to Center Field in Kauffman Stadium and who’s pitching for the Royals once again for no good reason what so ever? Matt Fucking Harvey. Why the hell are we doing this shitty experiment Kansas City? The guy helped win the Royals a World Series in 2015, but this is being too nostalgic letting him still pitch. This is easily the game of the day as the Royals vs Keuchel should start to get a wake-up call but the White Sox are the side to get on. If (no, when) Harvey gets into trouble today with Anderson/Grandal being on 2nd base and Abreu up, he’ll likely walk him which leads to either Edwin or Eloy jacking one out. You gotta get one and you should definitely look at Nomar Mazara as a cheap bottom of the order play today.
NY Yankees
Clint Frazier, DJ LeMahieu, Brett Gardner
Nobody knows anything about this donkey the Orioles are rolling out, but the Yankees in Camden are always good for a few bombs. Frazier’s birthday as well.
SNEAKY GAME OF THE DAY
Phillies vs Mets
Harper, Segura, Dom Smith, Wilson Ramos
This game is going over the 7 over/under and it will do such with a couple home runs in this spot. Great leverage play on DK
Other Teams to look at
- Blue Jays … So Toronto is either saying screw it and just resting guys or they truly do not believe in any analytics. Triggs is not a pitcher who misses bats, but the sinker baller has been slightly worse against RH bats in his short career. This would have been a great day for Randal Grichuk — especially in the 2 hole — but Toronto with all their recent acquisitions is sitting him and Teoscar Hernanez today. Villar, Tellez, Shaw are all still really good plays though.
- Indians … Soooo, Brett Anderson really isn’t that good. I know the Indians offense hasn’t done anything consistently all season long and lots of their guys are better vs RHP but … Gotta like Indians bats today, no? Ramirez/Franmil.
- Reds … Lefties named Winker and Moustakas.

CATCHER
- Wilson Ramos
- Yasmani Grandal
- Willians Astudillo
FIRST BASE
- Rowdy Tellez
- Vlad Guerrero Jr
- Edwin Encarnacion
SECOND BASE
- Michael Moustakas … He and Winker really in great spots as a nice Reds combo/mini stack.
- Cesar Hernandez
- Jean Segura
THIRD BASE
Weakest spot on the board, either ride the Tribe w/ Bubba Ramirez or pay down IMO. Franco is good value.
- Jose Ramirez
- Maikel Franco
- Travis Shaw
SHORTSTOP
- Tim Anderson … Just… Just play him….
- yeah.
- no,
- just… play tim..
- okay fine.
- Jonathan Villar.
OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore
- Clint Frazier … Not only in Camden which is a great spot for him but yeah, it’s his birthday and he’s facing a minor leaguer who has a terrible slider. Fun times…
- Jesse Winker
- Eloy Jimenez … You must have either Edwin or Eloy today. Maybe both, but you must have one of them.
- Whit Merrifield
OUTFIELD – Tier 2
- Dominic Smith
- Bryce Harper
- Eddie Rosario
OUTFIELD – Value
- Jorge Bonifacio
