The Slapshot – Feb 7th

Fun four game slate this afternoon before that lame ass Super Bowl game tonight (I’ll spare you my rant on the NFL right now).

Opened this slate up and immediately saw Dallas vs Chicago and thought man that’s a Radulov spot but he is highly questionable for this game and there’s not much great value overall on the slate when I factor in the other spots I want to look at.  So I think its a scenario to consider spreading your love around in your lineup or just go with five players from one team in hopes of a solid blowout.

TOP STACKS

Dallas is the most obvious and likely chalk stack today and if Radulov is in then I would go Pavelski-Radulov-Klingberg, but I am going to assume he sits and that changes my strategy on how to ride this slate.  So rather than outline top stacks, here’s the exposure I want to look at

Chicago vs Dallas:   RW vs the Blackhawks, so that’s Radulov or Gurianov.  I can see the Hawks actually staying in this game so I am not going Dallas goalies.  Do love Klingberg

Gurianov/Klingberg

Carolina vs Columbus:  This is the enigma game of the day.  There’s lots of scoring potential on this game but both teams will play a style which doesn’t make it stand out like a high scoring affair.  But the Hurricanes are playing higher scoring games this year and so if you want a spot to gamestack as a contrarian play this is it.  Good luck identifying who though.

Detroit vs Florida:  Barkov is on a roll and I cannot play today without locking in Dylan Larkin.  Christian Djoos is extremely cheap on D for Detroit and seeing good ice time/PP exposure, so he makes a ton of sense here too.  But Anthony Duclair is our lock goal of the day.

Larkin, Djoos, Barkov, Duclair

Kings vs Knights:  I know I went contrarian with the Kings on Friday vs Vegas and they got rolled early, but I am not going there again because I dont pick on Vegas at home in day games.  This is a 2-0 shutout, so this is our goalie today.

GOALIES

Robin Lehner (Vegas) … or MAF if he is in.

SLAP … SHOTS

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT Larkin scores, Duclair scores, Gurianov scores … Not a line lock, but those are the plays.
ONE OFF STUD Dylan Larkin
CONTRARIAN Patty Kane
TOP VALUE Carolina third line (Staal / Fast / Foegele)
TOP DEFENSEMAN Klingberg, Djoos, Ekblad
GPP FADE OF THE NIGHT Vegas Golden Knights (Lets try this again)
