Outside of Saturday nights debacle due to COVID-19 cancellation of the Angels/Twins game, the weekend was overall fairly productive and we now have a nice quiet 6 game slate on Monday but it has some great series involved. In fact, this is the week we really get into match-ups that we have not seen the past two seasons and tonight features just one divisional game. Start expecting higher scoring series soon.

All games play and the roof in Seattle is likely OPEN.
DYLAN BUNDY
Now in his second season in Anaheim, Bundy continues to be a pitcher that is improving back to his top prospect status later in his career. He won’t over power anyone with his fastball velocity but the area he likes to live in is up in the zone and so far this season the Rangers have nobody who can hit in the upper part of the zone. Granted, they really can’t hit down in the zone either, but that’s atleast one spot where Gallo would normally do damage and given that Gallo probably K’s twice tonight we can live with Bundy making one mistake down if he does.
BRANDON WOODRUFF
Woody is the only SP this year who has not allowed a barrel yet and eventually that will fade off, but he also carries more strikeout upside than his counterpart in this game Joe Musgrove but for $1200 less. For years whenever the Red Sox and Yankees would play a series the easy money was betting against both the first game after. The theory was that the emotional series and the let down would tend to play out for them losing the next game. With the Padres and Dodgers coming off the emotional series over the weekend I can envision another good outing from Woodroff as he matches Musgrove today. Just don’t expect a TON of run support here and that means Musgrove certainly comes into play, but more so on FanDuel tonight.
Third arm?
Don’t really see a need to go to a third guy today with limited games. Dustin May should pitch better but remains limited by his Manager and is overpriced IMO. Danny Duffy is boom or bust and does this every year it seems where he pitches well early in the season and then has a blow up game. Tonight doesn’t look like that blow up game but Arozarena really scares me off him. So if you want a third option it’s gotta be Musgrove.
Tonight is mostly about picking which two games you want and then how much of the L.A. teams you would look to roster.
Cardinals vs Nationals
Goldy/Nado/Carlson … Soto/Castro
Right now the Cardinals cannot pitch consistently at all, and even if Jack Flaherty could strikeout 7 Nationals he probably isn’t going to go deep and he isn’t going to pitch clean. I don’t know what it is with the Cardinals as a team right now but the talent isn’t matching the production from this staff and until it does we should be riding their games for offense. The flip side presents a better than advertised park shift once again for the red birds bats facing the ever inconsistent and usually not high Swinging Strike pitcher Joe Ross.
Giants vs Phillies
Giants Lefties & Harper/Bohm and yeah … Mickey Moniak!
Speaking of park shifts. Giants not only on the east coast (hello Brandon Belt) but also in the smallest NL ballpark outside of Cincinnati. This is their best chance in the series to do heavy damage as Chase Anderson presents a nice juicy matchup. His .241 xISO against is one thing but it’s absolutely shredded when dealing with lefty bats and the Phillies have one lefty reliever.
Angels or Dodgers?
Angels
Despite having two days off, it’s the Angels. LA will let down after the San Diego series for a night (but not enough to use Justus) and Anaheim gets Texas bad pitching staff and bullpen in their park which until proven otherwise is going to be productive for them and a nightmare for opponents.
