Sunday Dongers Club – June 13th

No weather issues today and no full slate of games on FanDuel.  Which is really just a jab at their weird slate yesterday.

Shane Bieber

Too great of a match-up against the Mariners to worry about spending up on Bieber.  Yes, Kyle Seager, yes LiC, but Bieber is too damn good to get that cute with today.  Seattle has a weighted K% of nearly 27% in this match-up, their top 5 all should K against Bieber and even if they do manage to have one good inning or two he’s still likely going to post 10 strikeouts.

Carlos Rodon

This is the part of the season when the good teams pull away over the next month before the all star break.  Detroit is a good K boost for Rodon as well obviously so 6 innings, a win, 9 strikeouts?  Yeah, this one is pretty straight forward as well.

Joe Ross

Giants offense is not that scary right now and certainly not vs a RHP.  This is the lowest scoring series in the history of the universe and should be another low scoring game today with Ross getting 2 to 3x on DK.

Drew Smyly

There are two lefties in Florida on the road that are viable cheap options on DK.  Smyly and Orioles SP Bruce Zimmerman, and I’ve got a lot more faith using a Braves SP vs the Marlins than an Orioles arm.  Smyly has struggled in recent games against better offenses, but should be able to get 10+ points today as a cheap SP2 on DraftKings.

Other pitchers I would consider:   Pablo Lopez, Bruce Zimmerman

Blue Jays

Hernandez, Grichuk, Vlad

Yesterday was the first time that Biggio/Bichette and Vlad Jr had all homered in the same game and that is cool and all but what does it have to do with Randal Grichuk & Teoscar Hernandez homering today?  I am not sure but thats gotta happen.

Astros

Correa, Bregman, Alvarez

Pineda has struggled to pitch full games and is not managing to get through without the long ball becoming an issue.  Carlos Correa is 10-18 w/ 3 HR off Pineda who I think is either pitching hurt or CLEARLY was doctoring the Baseball — keep in mind he was caught cheating once with pine tar on his fucking neck.  Remember that?  It was one of the most hilarious and ignored stores a couple years ago when he came back out in the second inning with what looked like a giant shit on his neck.  Yo, dude, what the fuck is on your neck?  And now his last two starts since the crackdown started he has gotten blown up…. Hmmm

Reds

Castellanos, Votto, Winker, Suarez

On both sites I prefer the route of paying up for pitcher but if you do come down on pitcher $ then youll want a high upside stack in a good park and that’s the Reds against Senzatella.  They’re dominant at home and Senzatella doesn’t get many outs.

Rockies

Blackmon

This might feel like chasing (hint:  it is), but with a rookie making his debut I’ve got no other words to justify the Rockies in another spot they should do well in

Brewers

Milwaukee is again moderate value and in a nice spot  Crowe has been terrible in the second inning and for various reasons I see the Narvaez-Adames part of the order being the winning play here but expect lots of Vogelbach/Urias chalk up top.
