While winning the FanDuel $222 Keystone last night was nice for me, what really was rewarding is to see so many others profit on while honestly felt like just another night. Proof that in DFS there’s alot of things out of you r control that have to go right irrespective of your build/contest entries to help have a really strong profitable day. Even better is I said it was gonna be a great week and so far it has been.
Tonight has a good number of new four game weekend series starting up and there are 8 main slate games tonight, of which only Cubs-Cardinals and Giants-Dodgers are carry over games from earlier in the week, meaning six new series starting up today.
WEATHER
There are once again, no weather issues for the DFS slate tonight but we do have very warm weather in Minnesota with wind blowing out to left/cross wind over 10 mph.
Kwang-Hyun Kim
Sticking with a theme on pitching right now, we’ll again attack the Cubs and with a lefty we get a little bit better advantage as well. Cardinals win this game tonight and Kim winds up going 6 strong with 0 ER
Sean Manaea
Outside of three main hitters (Haniger, Torrens and Moore), Sean Manaea should once again do damage vs Seattle. The Mariners have managed to have a good season thus far mostly off a better than expected bullpen but the offense hasn’t been consistent enough to be weary of using SP vs them and on this thin pitching slate, Manaea comes off as one of the more reliable options available to us.
Kenta Maeda
He’s pitching very well right now and the Angels offense is really dead. Ohtani has cooled off post the all-star break and even though he eventually is going to re-awaken (by eventually I mean, wait 24 hours), I can trust Kenta to be smart enough to pitch anything to him when there’s not much around Ohtani in this lineup.
Not Using
Tanner Houck – The model loves him and my eyes like him too, but he is still on a short string and outside of hoping for a 10 spot tonight I can’t get behind using him.
Much like last night, I would spread single entry and one lineup builds out among these teams/games today. Not all nights are required to go full stack a team and with weak pitching today you are putting too many eggs in one basket to 5 man stack. It’s fools gold.
Rays
Lowe, Meadows, Arozarena
I wouldn’t stack 4 or 5 Tampa players tonight because I have a hard time seeing them putting up a 6 or 7 spot but there is most definitely some HR or at a minimum RBI double upside in this lineup and I don’t mean just the LiC, but Austin Meadows certainly is the top play for sure and Brandon Lowe is the 2nd best play vs Quantril. While I am hot on Wander Franco to have a great second half, the man who is turning it on right now is Randy Arozarena.
Braves
Freeman, Swanson, Riley, Arcia, Albies
Matt Moore’s last start was something of a throw back and even his manager couldn’t believe it as he was pulled short of being in line for the win and it really pissed off Moore. Probably because he knew that it was the last he had in the tank and will get destroyed next time out. Hello, Atlanta. The LvL will drive Freeman ownership down and going on the road might be the right cure to get Swanson hitting better out of the two hole. That pairing with Riley/Arcia give you a four manner…
Twins
Polanco, Donaldson, Cruz
Long time MLB DFS players know it’s hard to expect the Twins to come through two days in a row, but here we are in a good hitting environment with them facing the oft-chalky but oft-shitty Andrew Heaney. I want to consider the Angels actually to play the role of what the Twins did last night but Maeada is pitching well enough to hold them at bay, so if there is offense here, it’s most certainly going to have to involve the Twins and it would be the top of the order – Polanco/Donaldson/Cruz
Teams getting overlooked
Honestly I prefer to go and stack from this tier in tournaments tonight because the three teams above while looking okay, aren’t overwhelming me with full 4-5 man stacks.
Phillies – Love Bryce Harper tonight against Morton. Problem is Charlie manages to power his way through to not get blown up too bad, but if he goes south your leverage of a low owned Phils stack is far better than anything else today.
