The Dongers Club – August 28th (Early)

Everything is about to get super busy with MLB, College Football, NASCAR, Pro Football all about to be running together at the same time.  Saturday’s are shifting over to College Football here over the next couple of weeks but it doesn’t mean the accuracy and attention to detail on MLB is going to wane away.  But you will notice some different article styles over the weekends of the final month in some cases.

Today we have two slates, a six game early slate and then the main slate.  Both are solid.

WEATHER

No early issues

SANDY ALCANTARA

This is a good bargain spot on Sandy, who is getting really good results of late and just did extremely well vs the Reds last Sunday.  Some will shy away from the twice in one week match-up but I expect another lower scoring game down in South Beach and Sandy at home is the golden side this afternoon, who at $7,700 is my SP1 today.

ALEK MANOAH

Potential for a dominant outing from Manoah today or a complete blow up outing for sure, but Detroit just doesn’t have the sustained depth of talent to out do his talent and the Jays bats are going to absolutely wake up from their sleep today against the Tigers pitching.  Lock in a 5-6 inning, 7-8 strikeout performance from Manoah and move on.

DANIEL LYNCH

Lynch, like some of the other Royals young pitchers has turned a corner and while Bubic just didn’t have it early last night for sure, I don’t think Lynch should have the same struggles today and overall is a more talented/upside pitcher than Bubic ever will be.  For $6,900 he’s the secondary cheap pivot if you want to avoid Manoah in a very warm Comerica.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Bichette, Vlad, Teoscar

The Jays are a sleeping giant waiting to explode against a terrible pitcher, which is gold for them and exactly what they get in Jose Urena and Tyler Alenxader in a very warm Comerica Park today.  The Tigers will be returning Urena from the DL and then proceed to piggyback him with Tyler Alexander.  I would join in on this piggybacking by backing your piggy bank with as many Blue Jays as you can consider rostering today.  If Devon White and Jon Olerud cross your mind then you are thinking along the same lines as me, because I would try to get 3+ Blue Jays on DraftKings and let the chips fall where they may because this team alone can carry you over the cash line.

NYY vs OAK

Stanton, Urshela, Lowrie, Gomes

Good weather out in Oakland as well and both teams are hitting with some pop right now but man we are missing out on the Giancarlo Stanton annual late heater.  When he is locked in, he is locked in, and for $4,000 on DK today that’s about as good of a value as you will find.  The stronger side though in my mind should be Oakland who will finally put a little dent into the stache known as Nestor Cortes.  This is a good game to bet the over on and lock in Stanton/Urshela + Lowrie/Gomes
