SLATE OVERVIEW
Saturday night brings an eight-game slate. Below is my breakdown of tonights slate as I am filling in for Steve Renners Dongers Club.
PITCHING
Kwang Hyun Kim
Kim is having a solid season and has pitched well as of late. Only allowing more than two runs once in his last nine starts. He has been very good against left-handed hitters allowing a .146 average, zero home runs and striking them out at a 24.5% clip. Also limiting the damage to batters from the right-side of the plate (.250 average with 1.2 home runs per 9). A good matchup against the Brewers who have been awful against left-handed pitching over the last 14 days. They have a .205 average with a .076 ISO and a 24% K rate.
Tyler Mahle
Mahle has been excellent against left-handed hitters with a 32% K rate and limits power. He does give up the long ball to right-handed hitters, but most of the Tigers lineup does not hit his pitch type well. Looking for him to go 6-7 innings with 8 Ks give up a run or two. Miguel Cabrera would be the one to give him trouble.

STACKS
STL Cardinals
The Cardinals went off last night hitting 6 home runs and putting up 15 runs. They have a few hitter that rake in Miller Park. Nolan Arenado is hitting over .400 with 10 home runs, Paul Goldschmidt has 13 doubles, 13 home runs and a .377 average. Edman, Molina and Bader have hit well in Miller’s park as well. They face Adrian Houser who throws a ton of sinkers to right-handed hitters. Goldsmidt, Carlson and O’Neil hit that pitch well. Yesterday Arenado had a big day, today it will be Goldsmidt. I do think Arenado does well again.

LA Angels
This game has the best weather on the slate. High 80s with the wind blowing out. The Angels face off against Kolby Allard, a low strike out pitcher who gives up the long ball (23 HRs in just over 100 innings- 2.7 HRs/9 to left-handed hitters). A 43% fly-ball rate (23% if the fly balls leave the yard)with a .485 slugging. Also giving up just shy of 2 HRs/9 to right-handed hitters.
