Did anyone else suddenly get a new appreciation with Baseball this morning after the football weekend? For the latter part of August and early September I felt like everyone was kind of snoozing with the MLB and now all of the sudden you can smell fall in the air and we can smell playoff Baseball which for my money is one of the best things in the world.
So with that, we have MLB DFS back on the front burner today with a 7 game slate that features ZERO weather issues. It’s September 13th and we are almost half way through the month without chaos in terms of September weather. Consider this the kiss of death, eh?

This game will feature two of the oldest pitchers in Baseball and I believe it might be up there in one of the oldest match-ups in MLB history as Waino takes on Rich Hill. The Mets had a very emotional weekend and Sunday night against the Yankees which saw Francisco Lindor finally have his breakout Mets performance game that I felt was coming oh, 2-3 months ago? Better late than never, but a quieter game tonight and with Waino pitching so well this season I would expect him to put the Mets bats back on snooze this evening.
Sandy Alcantara
As well as Waino has been in 2021, NOBODY is pitching more dominant right now than Sandy. He is flying under the radar because of some afternoon starts or starts that came in games which weren’t on main DFS slates but he has three double digit strikeout performances over his last four and just looks down right filthy right now.
Tampa vs Toronto
We have a hell of a series starting up north tonight as the first place Rays take on the surging Jays. For Tampa they will be trying to test Ryan Yarbrough out against Toronto and that just should not be done with how hot Teoscar, Lourdes and the entire Jays offense is currently. I know it was Baltimore that they scored about 10 touchdowns on this weekend but when you get that hot you are going to continue to hit for a while. But don’t sleep on the Tampa bats, specifically a FANTASTIC spot for Meadows and Ji-Man Choi
Note: Even if Tampa switches up who is pitching tonight I would still trust this as the top play.
St. Louis Cardinals
They hit lefties better and overall have been a better offense in the last few weeks. Goldy, Nado and Tyler O’Neill should all put the bat on the ball here against Rich Hill, but my top DK play at catcher is by far Yadier Molina. When St. Louis stacks have big games, the 5-8 spot in the order drives in runs and Yadi should be that guy today.

LINEUP CONSTRUCTION THOUGHTS
The Jays will no doubt be a popular team tonight but St. Louis is your Single Entry leverage second team. It’s a good time of year to force in stacking 4+3 together rather than bother with lineups that are broken up by new guys and less predictable spots.
The good team getting overlooked is Boston, however the park in Seattle has played down for hitting and Boston is really all over the map these days. They could have a break-out game here but are a distant third favorite spot.
I would not be spending down for pitching, although if anyone gets a boost against a bad team to consider it would be Espino vs the Marlins.
