WEATHER & INFO
Good news is that there are no weather issues for tonight. It’s a 13 game slate that is still full of some meaningful games. Baseball is a little different than other sports when it comes to “garbage” time end of season games. There are often way more upsets of teams you would think who should just roll over not rolling over and that is obviously due to the nature of Baseball having far more 1:1 scenarios and one bad pitcher could ruin it for a team — or a good one could shut it down too..
That said, here are the games with playoff implications still.
- Red Sox at Orioles – Boston needs to win
- Yankees at Toronto – Both need to win
- Phillies at Braves – Somehow the Phils are still in this. A huge series for them and a HUGE game tonight.
- Brewers at Cardinals – Technically it matters still to the Cardinals, but they’ve been so hot that they’re pretty comfortable as the 2nd wild card.
- Angels at Rangers – just kidding, if you watch this game then what the hell is wrong with you?
- Athletics at Mariners – Both teams have outside chances, but decent ones if things go right elsewhere.
- Diamondbacks at Giants – Giants cannot afford to let off here.
- Padres at Dodgers – Ditto Dodgers

Walker Buehler
I do not see the Padres caring to try and play spoilers and even if they did all they would be spoiling is the Dodgers chances to win the division or Buehler’s shot at winning the Cy Young award. Buehler at home for sub 10k is our best option on the mound tonight. He should not be limited.
Logan Webb
Along with the Dodgers needing to win, so too are the Giants in that similar position fighting to hold onto the NL West and best overall record crown.
The two pitchers above are really strong along with some other big name guys (Wheeler, Morton, Sale specifically) who should pitch well tonight. You’re better off taking the likely 20 point targets from those two or higher end pitchers than looking for a cheap late season arm to consider but I do expect AJ Alexy (Texas) and Aaron Civale (Cleveland) to pitch favorably today — but it’s just not necessary given the higher-end options
Toronto Blue Jays
Big series and the Jays can really cement their spot in the Wild-Card game by taking the game they should take against Taillon. Springer, Bichette, Teoscar and we have a cheap Cavan Biggio ($3100) who is likely back in the lineup tonight.
- George Springer
- Bo Bichette
- Teoscar Hernandez
- Cavan Biggio
Minnesota Twins
It certainly was not a great year for the Twins and specifically Byron Buxton. But he has turned it on of late and along with Mitch Garver gives a nice 1-2 punch tonight to carry the Twins vs Tyler Alexander and a yucky Tigers pen.
- Mitch Garver
- Byron Buxton
Colorado
Hard to overlook Coors Field which has wind blowing out and two lefties on the mound that should be attacked. I lean attacking the HR prone Corbin and I’m sure that this will be the popular donkey play of the day as well. It’s a good spot for Cron and Story yes, but do not overlook Colton “dont call me Wes” Welker who is … $2200 in Coors Field!
