The Dongers Club – September 2nd

This is going to be very quick and to the point, because there are just 5 MLB games tonight and a boat load of College Football games instead.  If you are not in a state where CFB DFS is permitted then I feel bad for you, truly.  I will also be on the road once this article has posted, so no updates coming from this article tonight.

From a content schedule perspective, the MLB article on Friday will be a regular Dongers Club and then there will not be another Dongers Club article until next Monday.  Saturday and Sunday there WILL be MLB content as Stephen Marsella (FantasyBum) will be doing the Saturday write-up and Rob Geriak will be doing the Sunday write-up and let me just say if they don’t recommend Goldy and Nado in Milwaukee then they are seriously trolling me.

This slate fits the stack SP in one game and move onto another game for hitting model to a T tonight and to say that the pitchers in the Coors Field game would be contrarian (and stupid) is an understatement.  I would suspect that Mitch Keller, Shane McClanahan and Carlos Carrasco are popular SP2’s tonight because the popular SP1 is no doubt Triston McKenzie.

Triston McKenzie (w/ Minor)

Last time he faced KC I was all over him given how he loves to attack hitters and where the Royals weaknesses are.  He really has turned the corner even further in his last few starts and is mixing pitches well and getting strikes with more than just his fastball.  Lock in T-Mac tonight and look to game stack him with an okay performance from Mike Minor.

Shane McClanahan (w/ E-Rod)

Out of all the other options these two have the best chances to have big strikeout games.  Carrasco is who he is and shouldn’t be trusted for more than 5 innings while Zach Thompson in the same game always gives me concerns.  I would much rather trust these guys in the Trop than Keller and Keegan Thompson in Wrigley.

Favorite Pairing:  McKenzie & McClanahan

Secondary Pairings:   Game Stack either

I am going to outline my favorite three plays here tonight – 1 from three different teams which you should focus on.

Atlanta

Austin Riley

Be that donkey and stack the Braves up in Coors Field tonight.  C’Mon, its Chi Chi Gonzalez!  But do not be afraid to lock in Riley, Swanson and all the Braves righties here as well.  Chi Chi allows a xSLG of over .560 to RHB and should really struggle vs the Braves

NY Mets

Francisco Lindor

I’m waiting for that big Mets blow up game, I swear they have it in them and if Lindor doesn’t get it going vs Zach Thompson who allows a .393 avg on his cutter to lefties then I don’t see how he is going to hit ever again.  Alright, it’s a bit extreme, but none the less Lindor along with Nimmo and Conforto are three terrific plays today.

Pittsburgh

Bryan Reynolds

What in the heck is up with the Pirates on EVERY short slate this season?  It has been the most tilting thing in the world to have to consider Pirates or not Pirates on every 4, 5, 6 and 7 game slate all season long.  They are the best leverage tonight in my mind, the Cubs pitching staff and bullpen are not scary and the Reynolds-Moran-Stallings heart of the order should do damage in Wrigley.

Chairman of the Dongers Club

Francisco Lindor – SS – NY Mets

I had this in and then I saw he was at the US Open today in New York.  Soooo, either he is going 3-4 with 2 HR or he is going 0-5 with 4 strikeouts.

Best YOLO Leverage Stack

Miami Marlins

Mostly because Carrasco is not someone I like tonight and he is going to be 50%+ owned.  But the Marlins are more likely going to just single him to death than hit HR.
