Overview

In the first race of the round of eight the Trucks hit the 1.5-mile asphalt Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vegas is a fun track that has progressive banking into the turns ranging from 12-20 degrees. Track position at LVMS is very important and a lot of times we’ll see some drivers stay on track a little longer than usual because this track isn’t overly taxing on tires. The drivers will go 134 laps totaling 200 miles as they hit up LVMS for the second time this season!

John Hunter Nemechek ($10,400)

Starting on the pole JHN has that critical track position right from the start.
In the first race here this season JHN started third, led 94 laps, and went on to win.

Brett Moffitt ($9,100)

Not a full-time driver in the Truck Series anymore, Moffitt is running just his eighth truck race of the season.
He should be one of the more popular P.D. plays starting 22nd with an average finish of ninth at LVMS with an 11th place finish here earlier this season and two career top three’s.

Grant Enfinger ($10,000)

Enfinger needed to win last week to advance in the playoffs and he just ended missing out.
He has back-to-back top-seven finishes, an average finish of 12 at LVMS, and a win in his career.
Enfinger starts 23rd.

Zane Smith ($10,200)

Zane has two sixths and a seventh-place finish in three career races at LVMS.
His last sixth-place finish came after he started 32nd so he knows how to navigate around this track, a track that isn’t easy to pass at.
Smith will start fourth.

Sheldon Creed ($10,600)

Ideally, Creed would’ve been starting closer to the front but with a strong truck and great talent he should be able to get to the front and lead some laps. My only concern is that it could be tough to maximize on dominator points as the highest-priced driver.

Dylan Lupton ($8,300)

Tanner Gray ($7,700)

Jack Wood ($7,100)

Chandler Smith ($8,600)

Smith starts second in a very strong truck riding the momentum of last week’s win at Bristol.
He’ll be more of a dark horse but worth noting with Smith are his sub-9K salary and his fifth-place finish here at LVMS the first time he ever ran it in a truck.
