Key Skaters

W Alex Ovechkin (WAS)

The Coyotes are a complete trainwreck right now and they’re playing their second game of a back-to-back against a Capitals team firing on all cylinders currently. Ovechkin has four goals in his last three games with at least four shots in all of those contests. Overall Ovechkin has eight goals on the season and he’s far and away my top skater tonight.

W Artemi Panarin (NYR)

Through four games the Blue Jackets defense has been lacking as they have the fourth-highest expected goals against rate per 60 at 5v5. They’ve also allowed the sixth-most scoring chances in the same situation. Panarin has gotten off to a quiet start with just one goal and three assists to this point for the Rangers who have been playing good hockey. The winger’s price is down to $6,300, the lowest it’s been all season in a good home spot.

C Tyler Seguin (DAL)

The Senators have the fifth-highest Corsi against thus far in the season and Seguin has started to finally put the puck into the net with two goals in his last three games. He has 17 shots on goal over his last four games and he’s a candidate to light the lamp once or twice.

Favorite Line Stacks

Washington Capitals

Evgeny Kuznetsov, Alex Ovechkin, Tom Wilson, John Carlson

• Like I mentioned above the Capitals have been firing on all cylinders and the top line of Kuznetsov, Ovechkin, and Wilson have been one of the better lines in the league. As a unit, they have 2.86 expected goals scored per 60 and against the Coyotes they’ll have ample chances. Kuznetsov and Ovechkin are on the top power-play unit while defenseman John Carlson is on the point for that unit.

Carolina Hurricanes

Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, Tony Deangelo

The Hurricanes come into this game against a weak Blackhawks defense with at least four goals in each of their last three games (13 total) and one of the main contributors has been Sebastian Aho with four goals over that span. Svechnikov and Teravainen are on Aho’s wings and join him on the top power-play unit along with defenseman Tony Deangelo. Carolina has 10 goals in two home games this season and should find themselves with plenty of scoring chances against this sub-par Chicago defense.
