Overview

The Xfinity cars hit the road course once again, this time on the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The ROVAL is 2.28-miles and has 17 turns. The drivers will go 67 laps or 155.44 miles in what is an elimination race before we get to the round of eight. Brace yourself for this one as there are plenty of contenders in a race so unpredictable as this one.

Top Drivers

A.J. Allmendinger ($10,700)

Dinger starts back at 14th on Saturday and there isn’t much detail I need to go into about his road course ability. I will say, though that in six road course races in the Xfinity Series this season Dinger has a win, five top five’s, and an average finish of seventh.

Ty Gibbs ($10,500)

In his first season at the Xfinity level Gibbs has been a stud. He’s been especially strong on the road courses with two wins and three top five’s in five races on the road. Gibbs will start 12th in great equipment, of course and will be a contender to dominate and win this race.

Ty Dillon ($9,300)

For the fourth time this season Dillon finds himself behind the wheel of the 23 Our Motorsports car and so far so good for Austin’s little brother. Dillon has a seventh, fifth, and 15th place finish in this car and will start 25th on Saturday. He should be a popular place differential play.

Preston Pardus ($7,800)

Starting 37th and a very solid road course driver Pardus will be driving for Mario Gonsolin who he’s finished 14th and 16th for on two occasions on road courses. Two years ago Pardus finished 27th at the ROVAL and last year he had been running well before an ignition failure ended his day early. Expect the 24-year-old to be a popular mid-range place differential play.

Landon Cassill ($6,600)

Cassill is extremely underpriced starting 35th on Saturday. In six road course races, this season the veteran has an average finish of 19.7 averaging five spots gained from his average starting position. Considering that average finish, his starting position, and his salary look for Cassill to be the most popular value play.

Also consider:

Austin Cindric ($10,300)

• On the pole it’s feasible that Cindric with his great road course ability leads the majority of the first stage. Obviously, there’s no place differential available here but the possibility of him dominating and winning is very good.

Noah Gragson ($10,000)

• Quietly Gragson has been a strong road course racer with seven top 10’s in 14 attempts. Gragson has raced on th ROVAL twice and has a fifth and second-place finish with 16 laps led in the latter race.

Will Rodgers ($7,000)
