Key Skaters

C Anze Kopitar (LAK)

• The Senators continue to be one of the worst teams defensively in the NHL and Kopitar, despite being a bit cold of late has had a strong campaign. It is expected that the Kings will generate plenty of scoring chances and with Kopitar skating on the top line, top power-play unit, and seeing on most night 20-plus minutes per game, he’ll be involved in that production.

W Vladimir Tarasenko (STL)

• They aren’t as bad as Ottawa but Columbus’ defense has been lacking this season to say the least. They’ve been bailed out often by standout goaltender Elvis Merzlikins. However, they’ll be playing in their second game in as many nights on Saturday suggesting that Elvis could see a night off. Regardless Tarasenko is still a great value despite generating pucks to the net regularly and finding production in multiple ways. Vlad has five or more shots in five of his last six games, obviously hitting the bonus on those five occasions.

W Leon Draisaitl (EDM)

• It might seem ridiculous having Draisaitl or Connor McDavid mentioned here but the facts are the facts. between the two these guys are popular and on most nights highly productive. That production should continue against Vegas who are allowing the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 at 5v5 among other defensive troubles.

Favorite Line Stacks

Edmonton Oilers

Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman

• Are they expensive? Yes, but they’ve been damn productive and they’re facing one of the worst defensive teams as far as advanced metrics go. McDavid and Draisaitl are once again on the same even-strength line while Hyman joins them on the top power-play unit.

Detroit Red Wings

Dylan Larkin, Tyler Bertuzzi, Lucas Raymond

• One of the more productive lines in the league continues to find good matchups. This one comes at home against the Sabres who are allowing 3.47 goals per game. All three average over two points per 60 with Raymond (2.93) and Bertuzzi (2.81) pushing three. All three are also on the top power-play unit giving them full correlation.

Los Angeles Kings

Anze Kopitar, Viktor Arvidsson, Adrian Kempe, Matt Roy

• Kopitar, Arvidsson, and Kempe all have even strength and power-play correlation in a tremendous matchup against the Senators who allow 3.82 goals per game (most) and have the fourth-worst penalty kill in the league. Roy finds production as an offensive-minded defenseman getting pucks to the net. He has at least four shots on goal in three of his last four games with plenty of ice-time mixed in. He runs one of the points on the top power-play unit.
