The Dongers Club – May 25th

We are on to Cincinnati…

WEATHER

I have a good feeling that all games wind up playing tonight.

Cubs at Reds – Rain here, they usually get games in through the rain in Cincy though but this is a divisional game so the risk is higher.

Phillies at Braves – It’s kinda ugly and again a divisional game so the risk is increased a good amount

Red Sox at White Sox – I believe they’ll play through rain

oh, it’s bad …  Kyle Hendricks in a park he has done good and horrific in vs Luis Castillo.  We’re not touching either so let’s just keep on walking and looking and hey, there is a guy with three names starting for the Yankees and two of them are first names and the other is a department store which I think has gone out of business five times.  John Patrick Sears.  What a fucking name on that douchebag, ole JP.

And the other major rain games have Dick Mountain, Lucas Giolito, Charlie Morton and Ranger Suarez.  Some actual, viable pitching options if you want to take gambles on any of them through the rain it would be the steakhouse, Morton’s.

DREW RASMUSSEN (FD)

I am far more comfortable with Rass vs a RH dominant Marlins lineup in Costco South.  When he is on he gets high pt/PA which is critical since he also does not go very deep into games.  But on this slate with some weather uglyness he is the least likely to blow up.

CHARLIE MORTON (DK) and RANGER SUAREZ (DK)

Let’s try to stomach another rough night of pitching on DraftKings but do it with a game that has two of the three highest K% teams over the last week in it and two pitchers who typically will give their teams enough length to work through any batters that get on base.  This is a rare time when I recommend to anyone does more than one lineup to build a second lineup on DK that has Detmers & Javier and then come back and stack hitters in this game.  So long as this one plays (rain) we should get 30+ DK points out of these two and that might win it tonight.

This is very much a good night to pick a stack and ride it.  With some questionable starting pitching we can see a team going off very early in a game to control the entire slate more than usual.

I would avoid stacking up the Yankees, Orioles, Guardians, Braves and Phillies and on FanDuel I would avoid stacking up the Marlins

ANGELS

The Only Otto that was ever good was in Gone in 60 seconds and I wouldn’t think he could pitch very well either.  Glenn Notto in my lineups tonight as the Angels break out in a big game at a regularly scheduled start time in Southern California.

Gimme the cheap Angels today for sure and then mix in some of the top of the lineup studs.

  • Jared Walsh
  • Brandon Marsh
  • Anthony Rendon
  • Shohei Ohtani

Pitching chalk will be Javier and Detmers
