The High Line – XFINITY Series – Henry 180 – Road America – July 2nd, 2022

Overview

NASCAR is back on a road course this weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Road America is a 14-turn 4.048-mile road course and the drivers will run 45 laps on Saturday. As usual at road courses, there’s a good mix of Cup Drivers, road-course ringers, and up-and-comers involved in what promises to be an exciting race. With so few laps I’ll be looking more to place differential drivers and guys that I expect to have a chance to win across my lineups.

Most comparable tracks: Watkins Glen, Sonoma Raceway, Charlotte ROVAL, Daytona ROVAL

Top Drivers

AJ Allmendinger ($11,300), Starting 38th

Dinger the long-time road course savant should be one of if not the highest owned driver on the slate as he’ll start 38th. Despite the qualifying mishap, Allmendinger had the second-best practice times at a track that is right in his wheelhouse. Don’t overthink him in cash or single entry settings.

Kyle Larson ($11,800), Starting on the Pole

There isn’t much to say, Larson is the best driver in this field and it shows from his qualifying spot and practice times. He’s the odds-on favorite to win this race and is the highest-priced driver on the slate. If rostering him you’re looking for the win and a race in which he would have to dominate. There is some risk that he doesn’t hit value but the reward is high.

Daniel Hemric ($8,800), Starting 22nd

Hemric will start 22nd here and has fared well in the road course setting in his XFINITY career. In 19 road courses, Hemric has seven career top-10s and an average finish of 13th. Priced in the mid to upper tier, Hemric has a solid floor in a good car.

John Hunter Nemechek ($8,600), Starting 35th

A truck series regular and former full-time Cup driver, JHN has run five XFINITY races this season with an average finish of 12th. He’ll start 35th in the Sam Hunt 26 car and is a chalky, safe cash game play.

Also Consider:

Myatt Snider ($7,800), Starting 32nd

  • Very good history on road courses and this year has a sixth-place finish at COTA and a second-place finish at Portland.

Jeb Burton ($5,800), Starting 34th

  • Burton is the chalk value driver starting 34th. On the season he has an average finish of 19th and despite crashing at Portland Burton did finish 23rd at COTA earlier in the year.

Brandon Brown ($5,900), Starting 36th

Miguel Paludo ($8,500), Starting 25th

GOOD LUCK!!
