Some people have been drafting since the Super Bowl, but then some people need help in this world. For the normal folk, we are now entering into the real fantasy football draft season and it’s time to look at who my targets are this yearr.
I don’t dive into giving full rankings of all players. You can literally get that for free just by going to various draft rooms, comparing where players are going and then scraping together the ADP over time (again, all free data). What matters is comparing who you should buy higher or lower than those ADP, which is what most people are “selling” when they tout rankings, only they really are only differentiating on 3-4 key players at each position. So lets highlight who my stand out guys either positive or negative will be this season at each position.
These are my targets. That’s what a draft list should be, not ranking every single player out there. Because you should NOT be considering drafting every single player.

Wide Receivers
My Star WR This Year
Davante Adams – WR – Las Vegas Raiders
Everyone is probably going to hear this and just roll their eyes, but Adams is square in that spot where everyone is taking him because they can’t get the big hype guys ahead of him. He’s clear cut the #4 WR in the land this season and we have no reason to think he doesn’t have a ball out first season in Las Vegas.
The Raiders will pass more than the Packers did (they’re gonna have a worse defense than GB did and less slow tempo running game). The Raiders will face some generous defenses as well and for sure Carr is going to be in line to peepper Adams over and over and over. He will miss out a little bit on the easy 1 yard touchdowns that he got from Rodgers, but he will excel with being an automatic 8 catches for 100+ yards every. single. week.
Just call him 7-11 because he’ll always be open and he’ll be challenging the receptions record this season.
For that reason, Adams is my stud and my #2 overall WR.

My Favorite WR to draft above his ADP
Romeo Doubs – WR – Green Bay
This one was easy when I saw who the Packers had with Adams vacated in Green Bay. Lazard is more than fine and clearly the #1 guy, but the idea that Christian Watson was going to beat out Doubs or that Doubs wouldn’t become Rodgers go to guy was never something I thought of.
Doubs was great in College and this is where playing CFB DFS helps out because he is a perfect fit to assume that role of snagging all the easy 1 yard stat padding touchdowns that A-Rodg is going to throw. Look for Doubs to get even more comfortable as the season moves along and he is the easy mid/late round WR to snatch up.

My Half Dozen Studs
J’Marr Chase – Cincinnati
I have Chase ranked #1 overall at WR. Ahead of Justin Jefferson and Cooper Kupp but I didn’t go with him as my Star WR this year because I think ultimately it’s going to be Adams. I will take him ahead of Kupp & Jefferson and obviously yes Adams, but after Chase is gone then it’s Adams #2 for me. Chase is the best WR in football, period. He’s a no doubt super-star who is going to be the best WR overall for the next ten seasons. In fantasy this year though he’ll probably have some quiet games with some HUGE games so from a consistency perspective Adams is better. From an upside perspective, it’s Chase.
Michael Pittman Jr – Indianapolis
Perfect guy to get all the catches between the 20’s from Matt Ryan.
Courtland Sutton – Denver
Almost ditto the Pittman scenario is Sutton being the go to guy for a new QB in town with Russ Wilson.
Darnell Mooney – Chicago
Mooney was really emerging last year within the Bears offense and should take another step forward this year. Lord knows he should wind up leading them in targets and if Fields progresses in his second season then Mooney is going to, uh, go to the moon? Sorry.
Mike Williams – LA Chargers
Everyone knows I am a huge Mike Williams mark. No change this year.
CeeDee Lamb – Dallas
We’re starting to get a little worried Lamb can’t stay healthy but I don’t see any reason to be jumping ship from someone who is so talented and such a must utilize weapon on this team.

Three players you would LOVE to have
Chris Olave – New Orleans … Him and of course Cant Guard Mike will be on many teams of mine this year, but the homerism aside, you can’t ignore his talent with Winston’s arm.
Marquise Brown – Arizona
Elijah Moore – NY Jets

Sleepers
Khalil Shakir – Buffalo … Favorite Sleeper in all of fantasy. Give me a nice Allen-Cook-Shakir stack in Best ball this year.
KJ Osborn – Minnesota … Big reason why JJ is not as high for me.
Zach Pascal – Philadelphia
Laviska Shenault – Jacksonville
