Tonight’s mid week three game MACtion slate includes:
- Eastern Michigan vs Kent State (-7.5)
- Miami (OH) vs Northern Illinois (-1.5)
- Western Michigan vs Central Michigan (-10.5)
Weather Notes:
Snow flurries expected in two of the games (EMU/Kent, Miami/NIU) and below 30 degrees in the other… Wind up to 10 mph at most across the three games.

Eastern Michigan vs Kent State
No way around the top ‘total’ game on the board tonight. The two worst rush defenses on the slate should give up plenty of easy first downs as well making this flow a good one.
- QB: Austin Smith (EMU)
- WR: Hassan Beydoun (EMU)
- RB: Samson Evans (EMU)
- RB: Marquez Cooper (Kent)
- WR: Dante Cephas (Kent)

Miami (Ohio)
The most likely QB to throw 3 TD tonight? How about Aveon Smith for Miami of Ohio.
- QB: Aveon Smith
- WR: Mac Hippenhammer
- WR: Miles Marshall

An ugly slate for Quarterbacks. None of these guys should have insanely high rushing games but they all should do enough to provide some balance. This is clearly a slate we want to prioritize finding the guys who can throw passing touchdowns.

Naturally with a weak QB slate we have a STRONG RB slate.
I expect Lew Nichols to be back in the lineup tonight for CMU at home
Lew Nichols (CMU)
Sat out last week but should return tonight. He’s a must own assuming he does suit up…
Marquez Cooper (Kent)
Samson Evans (EMU)

Hassan Beydoun (EMU)
I very much look forward to never having to debate Beydoun and Knue again. It’s very much a coin toss but they’re both likely to see enough targets to where either is fine.
Mac Hippenhammer (MIA-OH)
He has been on fire and is coming off a big game and now going up against an NIU defense which gives up nearly 80% TD rates.
Jehlani Galloway (WMU)
My under the radar call tonight is pivoting off the expensive Corey Crooms and onto Jehlani Galloway. He had just 1 target in their last game but was trending well with 9-7-10 and 5 prior to that.
