The High Line – XFINITY Series – A-Game 200 – Dover Motor Speedway – April 29, 2023

Overview

On tap for the NASCAR XFINITY Series this week is the “Monster Mile” of Dover Motor Speedway. Dover is a one-mile concrete track with 24 degrees of banking in each turn. It’s one of the only tracks (along with Bristol) that is concrete all the way around. The XFINITY Series has been racing here since 1982 and it’s always an action-packed race. The drivers will turn 200 laps totaling the 200 miles making dominator points more worthwhile than last week at Talladega. With qualifying complete we have a clearer picture of which drivers to target heading into raceday!

Most comparable tracks: Darlington Raceway, Bristol Motor Speedway

Top Drivers

Josh Berry ($10,800), Starting 19th

Berry has been very productive at these types of tracks. Specifically at Dover, in two races Berry has a win and a second place finish. He’ll start back at 19th so there’s PD upside and dominator potential. Looking further, Berry has had success at like-track Darlington with a top-five and two top-10’s in four trips.

Justin Allgaier ($10,200), Starting 18th

Allgaier holds off teammate Sadler to win Xfinity at Dover | WCYB

I’ll be locking Allgaier into my cash lineup today based on the success he’s had at Dover. In 22 XFINITY races at the Monster Mile, J.A. has two wins, 11 top-five’s, 15 top-10’s, and an average finish of 9th. Starting back at 18th, the floor is extremely high for the JR Motorsports driver.

Sammy Smith ($8,800), Starting 28th

The youngster Smith did not have a great qualifying effort making him an intriguing and probably heavily owned PD contender. Smith has been a little up and down to this point but does have a win and three top-fives to his name in nine races. Smith also led 40 laps at Richmond before falling back to finish 19th. There’s a ton of potential here with the driver of the 18 car for one of the better pit crews in the series.

Anthony Alfredo ($7,600), Starting 31st

In three XFINITY races at Dover, Alfredo has an average finish of 13th and also has a top-10 mark at Bristol. Starting back at 31st, Alfredo makes for a very appealing PD target in the mid-range driving for B.J. McLeod Motorsports.

Also consider:

Sam Mayer ($8,800), Starting 24th

Sheldon Creed ($8,100), Starting 3rd

Corey Heim ($6,800), Starting 36th

Cole Custer ($9,900), Starting 2nd

Kaz Grala ($7,300), Starting 26th

Kyle Weatherman ($5,700), Starting 35th

GOOD LUCK!!
