The High Line – XFINITY Series – Pennzoil 150 presented by Advance Auto Parts – August 12, 2023

Overview

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the most historical venues in racing and this weekend the XFINITY Series will take on the Road Course at The Brickyard. With qualifying still to come, I’ll look at who to target ahead as the drivers will spin 62 lap on the 2.44-mile road course.

Most comparable tracks: Watkins Glen, Sonoma Raceway, Charlotte ROVAL, Daytona ROVAL

Top Drivers

AJ Allmendinger ($10,800)

Dinger has qualified on the pole two years in a row heading into this race and won this thing last year after leading 42 laps. A.J. will be the favorite in this field as the highest priced driver and should be the most popular.

Ty Gibbs ($10,300)

Gibbs is the other driver at the top of the food chain who’s very strong on road courses. In 14 career XFINITY road course races, Gibbs has three wins and seven top-five finishes. Look for Gibbs as a real challenger for Allmendinger.

Ross Chastain ($9,300)

Ross Chastain wins Charlotte Truck race in dramatic finish

Despite not being considered a road course ace, Chastain ran this race last season in an XFINITY car and finished fourth after starting 18th. Since improving at the Cup Series, Chastain has a road course victory and despite having trouble in his Cup career at this track, he’s got the ability and equipment to perform well.

Brandon Jones ($7,600)

While it could put you in a situation where you can’t watch the t.v., Jones made some serious gains here last year finishing 15th after starting 36th. Jones has plenty of road čcurse experience (37 races) and has an average finish of 15th with five top-five finishes.

Also Consider:

Kaz Grala ($7,900)

Brett Moffitt ($7,100)

Preston Pardus ($6,800)

Jeremy Clements ($6,600)

Anthony Alfredo ($5,900)
