CFB DFS: The Tailgate – Week 4

If you are a gambler who likes to take unders, do it in quarters, because these finals are going OVER today.  The odds on these games in terms of the spreads look VERY sharp, so I would trust going shopping on totals more than the sides.

Arizona State at Texas Tech

Should be tons of volume for both teams to justify using 1:1 type correlation in this game.

  • Jordyn Tyson – WR – Arizona State
  • Cam Skattebo – RB – Arizona State
  • Tahj Brooks – RB – Texas Tech
  • Josh Kelly – WR – Texas Tech

Kansas at West Virginia

I get that if this has an epic failure you all might tell me to slow down on the Garrett Greene hype train, but there is just no reason why Greene is not going to continue to get the chances to shine in DFS and a home game in what I have pegged as the game of the week … Game of the year potential even, is the spot where one should be sniffing for a potential 40-burger game from the WV Quarterback.

  • QB – Garrette Greene
  • Kansas hasn’t been good this year — today they wake up and Daniels to Grimm, Arnold and Skinner will work for a run it back stack.

Georgia Tech vs Louisville

I really don’t trust much from Georgia Tech here and Louisville is at Notre Dame next.  But Louisville is also off a BYE so they should not have a look ahead and is gonna put up 30+ points

  • QB – Tyler Shough – L’Ville
  • WR – JaCorey Brooks – L’Ville
  • WR – Malik Rutherford – Ga Tech

QB is incredibly deep today, yet everyone is going to wind up on the same couple of picks.  I think you can steal this slate with 5 WR, but also don’t hate the idea of a 2 QB build.  If you do go 2 QB though take a gamble on some low ownership (see the Also Like Section)

CORE PLAYS

Garrett Greene – WVU – $7800

Both him and Taylen Green will be in 40% of lineups today.  Greene though once again gets my nod as QB1.

Tyler Shough – Louisville – $7200

Do not play naked.  Gotta have him with receivers and hope for a 4+ TD game.

ALSO LIKE

  1. Sam Leavitt – Arizona State – $8500 … Lowest owned among the QB today but in a high total game as a road QB where he can add some rushing bonus in the form of a touchdown possibly as well.
  2. Jalon Daniels – Kansas – $8000

CORE PLAYS

Jarquez Hunter – Auburn – $6300

Lots of love on this game for good reason, but one thing which is getting missed is that Arkansas defensive splits are too overloaded.  They should come back to the mean a little bit here and Hunter had 100+ vs the Razorbacks a year ago & returns as the main RB1 for Auburn.  They got him going with a bounceback in week 2 and I’ll buy into him repeating it this week.

Phil Mafah – Clemson – $6000

A home favorite RB fits the narrative of getting in the box, but he’s gonna HAVE to get into the box because the volume probably doesn’t get him there.

Tahj Brooks – Texas Tech – $7800

Guys like Corey Kiner, Montrell Johnson  are all cheaper and all arguably just as good.

FLEX / DEPTH

  1. Cam Skattebo – Arizona State – $7300
  2. Bhayshul Tuten – Virginia Tech – $7700

CORE PLAYS

Luke Grimm – Kansas – $6300

Here’s the play nobody will touch.  We all love Greene right?  Well, Kansas was a darling for the past two seasons and now everyone’s writing them off.  They’re gonna stay in this game vs WVU and Grimm is the first play I am locking in after Greene.

JaCorey Brooks – Louisville – $4800

This is the chalk “value” pick because he is underpriced for the role that he gets.  As I mentioned above, Louisville is coming off an early BYE and really hasn’t been tested yet with a look ahead coming up.  But I trust them to not completely be asleep at the wheel considering Georgia Tech did pull off an upset already/

Kevin Coleman – Missisippi State – $5500

Florida sucks.  Go Bulldogs.  End Analysis.

Josh Kelly – Texas Tech – $6500

Ranks just below Coleman for me because of the extra $1k in price.  Otherwise, everything is equal if not better for Kelly

FAVORITE SLEEPERS

Update:  Definitely sounds like the UTAH QB situation is going to be too ugly and I have to admit defeat here.  I am downgrading Singer and bumping up CJ Daniels in this tier range.  There are some other decent low owned WR/TE options as well such as Colston Loveland (I’m gonna take Michigan to win today) and Quentin Skinner.

  1. Dorian Singer – Utah – $5800
  2. CJ Daniels – LSU – $5600

POSITION DEPTH RANKED (For S-FLEX/FLEX Purposes)

Don’t be afraid to roll 5 WR
