Someone at the MLB scheduling offices definitely was having some fun putting the Phillies/Blue Jays and Red Sox/Mets together to signify some historical World Series match-ups … at least for a couple fan bases. WEATHER All clear Before we get into the hitting and before I go deep into the pitching there’s a few one off hitters that I need to note tonight. Shohei Ohtani is back in Angel Stadium. Aaron Judge is in Texas against a bad lefty. And Jose Ramirez … well, he’s facing his whipping boy. So yeah, you have some heavy duty studs that could absolutely go bananas tonight and I haven’t even touched upon the team that’s going to hit 5 HR. CHRIS SALE (DK: $10.8k, FD: $11.6k) On a night when paying for hitting feels like a smart play, you have the possibility of 7 innings, 14 strikeouts and 0 ER from Chris Sale. I honestly cannot find a ton of trust in going Colorado hitting as a leverage play. WALKER BUEHLER (DK: $7000, FD: $6900) The last three starts for Buehler have started to look a little better, slowly, like an ant marching to his kingdom. I will love to make fun of the Dodgers when it comes playoff time because their lineup despite having studs at the top really falls off, but two things I really love about them are a) the Michael Kopech trade and the possibility that Buehler can pitch in the playoffs and give them some of his old form. The signs are getting there for him & the Angels as an opponent tonight should boost the strikeouts the way a few guys are swinging of late. On a night when taking a risk on SP is mandatory, I would go with my old faithful. RYNE NELSON (DK: $7200, FD: $8800) Credit Arizona for learning how to develop guys who don’t appear to have a ton of “Stuff”. Nelson is one of the better pitchers nobody talks about and will be getting a soft Giants opponent. There’s some temptation to use a risky cheap pitcher but you get a safe 12-18 from Nelson tonight, so take it. PHILLIES Ah. Yes. The Joe Carter series. Touch ’em all. Well. Sorry Toronto, it’s pay back time. The key tonight is the Phillies RHH against Chris Bassitt, not the obvious lefties, as Turner, Castellanos and Realmuto are all FANTASTIC plays –…...
