Are we having fun yet? Hell of a wild Bowl season as usual so far. Four games on the MAIN slate today, but five overall games as we do not get to feast upon the Oklahoma/Army game which begins at Noon for DFS purposes.
Birmingham Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. Vanderbilt
- Georgia Tech: WR Eric Singleton is going to Auburn. God bless his soul.
- TE Eli Stowers has opted out for Vandy
Liberty Bowl: Texas Tech vs. Arkansas
- Texas Tech has a new QB as Freshman Will Hammond gets the start for injured (and shitty) Behren Morton
- Arkansas has lost almost all of its OL for this game
Holiday Bowl: Syracuse vs. Washington State
- Washington State loses a lot here with QB John Manteer (Oklahoma) and WR Kris Hutson (Arizona). This is on top of losing HC, OC, DC, QB Coach, RB Coach, Half their team and probably even the mascot isn’t going to play.
- Syracuse meanwhile is probably the top team in the nation in terms of “We had a good season and beat up on bad teams, lets go dominate a bowl game” list. So the -17 spread probably feels too light here.
Las Vegas Bowl: Texas A&M vs. USC
- USC has a lot of opt outs/transfers, but I have them as my top offensive stack today. Nice dome environment which should produce a high scoring game.
The projections and ratings and ownership combined on the Quarterbacks today is pretty insane and makes it one where going 2 QB is a really logical play.
- Jayden Maiava (USC – $7200) … USC is my favorite bet today and so Maiava naturally becomes my top Quarterback too. He’s likely to be 90% of their offensive production and can finish with 3 passing and 1 rushing touchdowns.
- Taylen Green (Arkansas – $7300) … Great rushing upside

- LeQuint Allen (Syracuse – $8100) … Allen had 211 carries this season. The next man up had 35 (Yasin Willis), there’s no indication that should change today. Pencil in Allen for 15+ carries even in a blowout. He is pricey, but after him at RB today I don’t see another pay up as I’ll pass on Tahj Brooks.
- Jamal Haynes (GT – $5900)
- Amari Daniels (Texas A&M – $4500)
- Makai Lemon (USC – $5200) … Gotta pair USC pass catchers on this slate.
- Trebor Pena (Syracuse – $6000) … Pena is the consistent WR today. If he can break one off he will wind up being a must own and I trust him more in a blowout than I do Gadsden.
- Noah Thomas (Texas A&M – $3500)
- Eli Stowers (Vanderbilt – $3900) … Potential OPT out here but potential sneaky low owned play in Stowers based on projections. He’s over 25% on the season for Target %, sub 4k and gives Diego Pavia the most consistent option today to pull off the slight upset. This should be one of the more entertaining games we see this Bowl Season, the question is just how many RZ conversions are via the air and having a TE is a good spot for that.
