The Dongers Club – April 22

WEATHER

Rays at Diamondbacks:  Roof OPEN!

Cardinals at Braves:  Could see early delay due to storms.  Should play.

KRIS BUBIC (DK: $8900, FD: $10k)

Bubic has been fantastic back as a full time starter.  Sure, he gave up 7 hits and 4 walks to the Yankees last time out but still managed to go 5 1/3 with 6 strikeouts, 34% CSW% rate and only gave up 3 ER.  Tonight he gets the worst offense in the Majors and … well, dont fuck up this opportunity to kiss the pretty girl Bubic.

DUSTIN MAY (DK: $8800, FD: $9100)

If they cannot hit them then they don’t leave the park.  Simple logic my friends.  While the wind isn’t massive tonight and the temp is low, the wind is still going out slightly in Wrigley — hopefully that keeps people away here.  It won’t bother May.

DAVIS MARTIN (DK: $6700)

Sorry but if you are picking on the White Sox “bad” offense, I have to tell you they aren’t the worst of the two offenses in this game right now.  Minnesota’s hitting .204 with a higher whiff rate against RHP.  In searching for a cheap second pitcher, you can go with the chalky, “im due for another -10” Bailey Ober or go with Davis Martin.  Who.  Well, no, the metrics aren’t good, but he’s a little leverage for you to consider.

OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS

  • Jose Soriano is a Trap.  Welcome to Pirates dominating in Southern California week.

RAYS / D’BACKS

Chandler Simpson, Corbin Carroll

Have an open roof.  Will come.  That’s the motto here and vulnerable pitching (more on the Rays SP side).  Chandler Simpson should lead off once again & his speed in that park could be great if it gets down into the outfield.  Corbin Carroll is worth paying up for tonight from Arizona.

RANGERS / ATHLETICS

Semien, Seager, Langford

Rooker, Langeliers

Rangers gotta get going at some point and I refuse to believe they won’t hit the Athletics in Sactown.  Athletics side favorable as well given Corbin on the bump
