LANCE McCULLERS JR (DK: $8500, FD: $9300)
Lance made my top three tonight but not without some hesitation. His last two starts have been what folks kinda remember him as, but we should caution that he is still coming off a long injury lay-off & the White Sox have been pesky. Not to mention, they’re a RH heavy lineup and this is a RH hitters park. For ownership purposes, I would anticipate McCullers ends up being in the top 1-3 for ownership tonight and he is being allowed to get extended rest in between starts, so I don’t think he’ll have a short 2-3 inning blow up and for that reason we’re probably smart to just take the shot on him and hope Vargas & Robert dont touch him up from the right side.
CHRIS BASSITT (DK: $7700, FD: $9100)
My sleeper play today. Bassitt in a big park against a limited lefty lineup is always a favorite pick for me and I’ll bite on him being good tonight.
MACKENZIE GORE (DK: $10,000, FD: $10,000)
The fact that there are fairly priced second/third options here and Gore should be < 5% owned tonight makes me love this spot. The Mets are back after a long west coast trip so now is the time to attack them. Only downside is we have some high $ hitters that likely go off for big nights tonight. So 10k here even with some mid tier value isn’t going to put him in the top 2.
OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS
- Lucas Giolito is going to have a bounce back tonight – but tough to pick on Tampa when they usually hit well in Boston
- I expect runs in the Yankees/Royals game, it’s going to be on TBS and has the feels of a 9-6 type final, so no Fried tonight but good luck picking which Royal.
ROCKIES
Beck, Doyle, Estrada, Goodman
This is the 100% correct side of Coors. The first two months we all laughed at the Rockies (and, well, for good reason). Now is the time when the Rockies are above .500 at home. The dog days of Summer approach and teams come into the warm weather not ready to go through their bullpens as often now.
BLUE JAYS
Bichette, Vlad, Barger
A lot of signs are pointing to Vlad Guerrero Jr having a big week soon, so I’ll be chasing that for a little bit here and Mikolas against a team not striking out should bump him early from this game.

Noah Cameron is your prototypical soft tossing lefty. He should have blow ups in his career and tonight is likely one of those
