The Dongers Club – Friday, the 13th

WEATHER

Three spots with light summer storm chances tonight, but limited PPD risk.

  • Angels at Orioles
  • Rays at Mets
  • Rockies at Braves

GAVIN WILLIAMS (DK: $8000, FD: $8600)

In lineup projection rankings Williams draws the most favorable opponent with the weakest weighted wOBA based on the order and splits.  It’s a good pitchers park generally as well and I believe he’ll have good offense early against Castillo so there’s even good win upside here.  When he is on, Williams is a solid #2, when he is off, he just frustrates the piss out of you and has a long 50 pitch inning to ruin the night.  Weak opponents help him tremendously, so this is worth going in on Williams today.

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO (DK: $10,600, FD: $10,000)

San Francisco/L.A. will always carry some extra weight between the fan bases, but nobody on the Giants really comes out like they’re going to beat up on Yoshinobu.  He will throw the kitchen sink at them & the Giants haven’t seen him since May of last year — a combination which puts him in line to be through 5 innings tonight without any damage and upside of going 7 with 0 ER.

BRYCE ELDER (DK: $7800, FD: $8500)

Storms are a concern, so too is the fact that he just really isn’t that good.  Rockies aren’t really in too bad of a park shift given Atlanta’s warm weather, however, they’re still the Rockies and Maybe — Just Maybe?  Elder will repeat his last gem vs the Giants.

OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS

  • FREDDY PERALTA … Not as good as Yamamoto but $1500 more than Williams.
  • CLAY HOLMES … Both Holmes and Bradley are slightly tempting here as third options, facing each other.  Neither feels like a DFS winner today.

So many activities tonight … So many teams to highlight

  1. ANGELS … Baltimore side is great too
  2. PADRES … Odd that the prices here are what they are, but then the team has been kinda meh for a bit.  D’Backs pen is a problem, so could have late inning upside.
  3. BRAVES … Acuna/Albies

UNDER THE RADAR SPOTS

  1. GUARDIANS … Without a doubt my favorite sneaky spot today.  J-Ram on fire and Lane Thomas/Steven Kwan will be 2% or lower and are great plays IMO — even Lane in the RvR spot.
  2. TWINS

CATCHER

  1. Bo Naylor
  2. Salvador Perez
  3. Drake Baldwin
  4. Logan O’Hoppe

FIRST BASE

  1. Nolan Schanuel
  2. Kyle Manzardo
  3. Pete Alonso
  4. Nick Kurtz

SECOND BASE

  1. Daniel Schneemann
  2. Jackson Holliday
  3. Ozzie Albies
  4. Brandon Lowe … Lock in the B.Lowe northeast homer this weekend at some point.

THIRD BASE

Deepest spot on the slate tonight.  Jose Ramirez is still white hot, Manny/Arenado are not mentioned despite having good park splits & then there’s a whole collection of guys who have been bad that are due to get going well here (i.e. Lewis, Riley, McMahon).  Really expect lots of production across the board here tonight.  These are my favorites…

  1. Jose Ramirez
  2. Royce Lewis
  3. Max Muncy (LAD)
  4. Isaac Paredes

SHORTSTOP

Meanwhile, SS feels like a spot to maybe punt today.  And by punt, I mean — sure, I’ll bite on Corey Seager at only $4400 against Adrian f’n Houser.

  1. Corey Seager
  2. Trevor Story … Might finally be having his little 2-3 week good stretch before going on IL around July 1st…
  3. Carlos Correa

OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore

  1. Mike Trout
  2. Fernando Tatis Jr.
  3. Colton Cowser
  4. Steven Kwan

OUTFIELD – Tier II

  1. Lane Thomas
  2. Brandon Nimmo
  3. Jackson Merrill
  4. Ronald Acuna Jr.
  5. Brent Rooker
  6. Jac Caglianone

  1. Jac Caglianone – OF – Kansas City Royals – Chairman of The Dongers Club
  2. Mike Trout – OF  – Angels
  3. Colton Coswer – OF – Orioles
  4. Jose Ramirez – 3B – Guardians
  5. Bo Naylor – C – Guardians
  6. Nolan Schanuel – 1B – Angels
  7. Ozzie Albies – 2B – Braves
