There is a report that hot weather with tons of humidity is coming… Shocking, as it’s also mid June and we have this thing called SUMMER. But, all that aside, we really have what appears to be a nice random Tuesday where all of the sudden those of us claiming the balls are dead look dumb. We’re not, they just turned off the humidors tonight. Happy hunting finding a safe pitcher … or two.
SETH LUGO (DK: $7800, FD: $8700)
Tonights Giolito in my mind, as he gets a favorable Texas lineup which has one concerning bat (Corey Seager) and then it’s likely very smooth sailing for Lugo today. Enough time back on the mound after an IL stint for KC to turn to him to stop their bleeding.
WALKER BUEHLER (DK: $7000, FD: $8000)
Do we go back to the Mariners and picking on them again? Why not.. All signs point to this night being a higher scoring one and the need for high end pitching just not really jumping out at me. Cal Raleigh has finally come back down to earth for now, if that holds up, the Sox could pitch their way into another series win behind Buehler — who is back in our lives as a late night hammer at low ownership — where he always shined.
BRANDON PFAADT (DK: $6800, FD: $7900)
Everything about this game on the model is backwards for me. I think Arizona is the far better play and Pfaadt is the pitcher who could shine out of nowhere. It’s a really contrarian take yes, but he only really gets big strikeouts against RHH & Toronto’s more RH heavy again now while Varsho is still out. Gimme Zona to win big north of the border tonight.
OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS
- While Cleveland is struggling and I thought they would hit in Seattle, they’re not someone I want to pick on with the walk-a-thon Robbie Ray after dark.
- Andrew Abbott has a ton of risk, and a ton of upside. If you paid up, he is the play.
- I can see Peterson or Schwellenbach being in a sneaky MME lineup that does well tonight, cant justify any on a main build.
DIAMONDBACKS
Naylor, Marte, Perdomo, Smith
We have a Naylor in Canada against a RHP who struggles with lefties. Sign me the hell up for that 2 homer game. Paired with a possible onslaught from the rest of the LHH here and the D’Backs are easily the favorite play today.
REDS
Spencer Steer, CES, Gavin Lux, Elly, Stephenson
This game is either going to be 2-1 or 13-3. The Reds offense has woken up thanks to Elly finally getting the Tito Francona effect and he is the hottest hitter in baseball. If they had played yesterday it would have been an auto lock but sometimes that one day off can cool things off. No fear, David Festa is here to start it back up.
YANKEES
Dominguez, Bellinger, Goldschmidt
If we didn’t have dead Baseball’s everywhere it would be a night where I say just take every over and move on. One spot that speaks to me is the Yankees not getting shutdown again and exploding with some 2021 style Baseballs in the first three innings off Kyle Hendricks. When they hit 4 out in the 1st inning, I don’t ever want to hear anything about it being a conspiracy theory again…

- BREWERS/Cubs is your sneaky game of the night. Really like Milwaukee here.
- ATHLETICS: Rooker, Wilson … The entire AL West deserves to be shot. Houston is just toying with everyone now as they are going to roll out Art Vandelay to pitch with their huge lead in the division and a horrible lineup every night.
