A thirteen game slate on a Sunday! What a world to be alive in and this is not the sites being cute or anything, it’s just how the MLB schedule is setup today. The night game tonight is the Mets and Giants while the Angels/Mariners is your lone tilt slate game this week. So enjoy the chaos that is a 13 game Sunday main slate — just like old times. Being able to write up a slate like this can be difficult. It screams a Sunday with a million runs being scored across the league in so many hot games out there.
WEATHER
The wrath of Summer storms for me is usually in late June, but this year late July seems to be taking on that role. I am fairly certain that there was some lightning bolt that nuked something down the road from me around 2am last night and if any of those type storms hit these games today then we can assume that one of these spots is getting blown up because God is sick of seeing shitty baseball. I’m talking about you Rockies and Orioles …
All that aside, every game will find a way to play today with the ones in PNC, Camden, Busch and Fenway maybe seeing a storm or two.
BRANDON WOODRUFF (DK: $10,500, FD: $10,200)
Woody has been nothing short or ridiculous in three starts since finally coming back from injury. It has been Mariners-Nationals-Marlins in three starts and he draws those same Marlins again today, so he should be able to continue just coming out and pounding the zone without much problem against the lower tier teams.
PAUL SKENES (DK: $10,900, FD: $10,900)
Absolutely pathetic showing by the Diamondbacks thus far in PNC and with everyone being on the trade block (Naylor gone, Grichuk gone, Geno likely next) I think it’s safe to assume they’re just going through the motions which is not ideal against Paul Skenes who just isn’t getting the wins but could today.
ZAC GALLEN (DK: $7900, FD: $8300)
Skenes’ counter part on the other side is Zac Gallen & he hasn’t done well his last two but those were Dodgers/Astros, so I can give him a slight pass. Gallen’s another guy who is a potential trade spot and the one I think the Mets should go out and heist away from Arizona. If he is given the full green light today then he’s going to be just fine in what is a game that I lean on being hopefully one of the few unders today.
THE SUNDAY SLEEPERS
Each of these carries big risk, but on a 13 game slate with potential for high scoring games I think you take those risks…
JACK FLAHERTY (DK: $8500, FD: $9000)
It goes against our natural instincts to bet against streaks and there are some who say you ride a streak in MLB. Sure, for pure gambling I get it you ride with what the trend is. But in DFS you have more upside in betting against the come here and the Tigers losing streak – coupled wiht the Jays hot offense streak – is going to come to an end at the same time. It’s not just going to be the Tigers offense or the Jays offense streak ending, it will be both.
JACK LEITER (DK: $6800, FD: $8100)

BRADY SINGER (DK: $7700, FD: $8000)
Gut feeling, Singer pitches great, Elly finally homers and the Reds win 5-1 unless this explodes late and then they win 15-1 while the Rays roll out position players to pitch and decide to throw in the towel.
DODGERS
Freeman, Hernandez, Edman
Believe me on Teoscar Hernandez being the Red Sox & Fenway’s Daddy yet? Two games, two homers. Today though it’s all about Freddie Freeman and getting some value from the bottom half of the Dodgers lineup.
WHITE SOX
Tauchman, Benintendi, Vargas
Ben Brown is one of the worst pitchers in Baseball and yet the Cubs still think he is someone they want to use while in a playoff race? After getting DESTROYED in almost every start they sent him down to the minors and “managed his workload there” only to bring him back vs the Royals last week and he got destroyed once again. I don’t care who he is facing, he is someone you attack.
TIGERS
Greene, Keith, Carpenter, Torres
There’s no point in playing just 1 or 2 Tigers. You go all in or you go nothing at all. Keith-Greene-Perez are the CORE
