The Dongers Club, Postseason

MLB Post-Season.  What a field we have and what a Wild Card round.  It is a very big shame that it’s only three game series, but MLB in some regards is still better than NFL just because they haven’t over done the playoffs too much.

While I miss that first Friday of 4 games for the AL & NL Divisional Series, we get it now on Tuesday & Wednesday, which might actually offset that empty Friday slate this week.

Here are my series predictions that you can roast me on a couple weeks from now

Wild Card Winners

  • Boston, Detroit, Cincinnati :eyes emoji:, San Diego

Divisional Round Winners

  • Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia, Milwaukee

LCS Winners

  • Toronto, Philadelphia

World Series Champion

  • Phillies – They have been my pick since February, I am not changing it now.

WEATHER

All clear

TARIK SKUBAL (DK: $10,000 / FD: $10,300)

8 strikeouts will happen here.  Skubal has that it factor for dominating right now.  He had a few hiccups late in the season but after seeing Cleveland on September 23rd, one week ago, Skubal returns & is just too damn good not to be used.  Much more comfortable here than Crochet & Fried — both I don’t mind, but doubt they have the strikeouts Skubal will.

HUNTER GREENE (DK: $8200, FD: $9200)

While Tito Francona has improve the Reds bullpen, there’s no way he pulls the plug on Greene early & I’m trusting my upset call here on the Reds shocking the world with a series win vs the Dodgers and that only happens if they win Game 1.

Also expect to pitch well…

  • Blake Snell & Gavin Williams, but both will hit a bad inning mid-4th/5th innings somewhere in there and thus the ceiling game isn’t likely

  1. PADRES vs CUBS … Weather is not going to be a huge factor here, but it won’t be miserable weather in Wrigley either.  Cubs pen is the one I trust the least in the Wild Card round.
  2. RED SOX
  3. REDS

CATCHER

  1. Moises Ballesteros
  2. Connor Wong

FIRST BASE

  1. Spencer Steer
  2. Michael Busch

SECOND BASE

  1. Nico Hoerner
  2. Matt McLain

THIRD BASE

  1. Manny Machado
  2. Sal Stewart
  3. Jose Ramirez

SHORTSTOP

  1. Dansby Swanson
  2. Trevor Story
  3. Xander Bogaerts

OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore

  1. Giancarlo Stanton
  2. Fernando Tatis Jr.
  3. Kyle Tucker
  4. Noelvi Marte

Sleeper Play:  If Austin Hays gets an AB he will be the series hero….

  1. Fernando Tatis Jr – OF – San Diego Padres – Chairman of The Dongers Club
  2. Giancarlo Stanton – OF – Yankees
  3. Spencer Steer – 1B – Reds

BETS

  • Padres / Cubs OVER 6
  • Red Sox +114 ML
  • Reds +167 ML
