The narrative going into the Divisional round is naturally going to be that the teams who had the BYE are at the disadvantage of having almost a full week off. Teams have been better now about their scrimmages but certainly until the narrative is destroyed it will remain. I think it dies down personally, so I am not leaning on it too much but the Mariners and Blue Jays are two teams I could see getting bit by it.
SERIES PREVIEWS
- Yes, I am still on the Phillies
- Yes, I am still on the Blue Jays — They have to win it in 5 though and I wouldn’t be shocked if the first four games all went to to the road teams.
- Slight lean on the Tigers, but I do not feel confident about their offense
- Lean on the Brewers, but boy this is the best series of them all.
WEATHER
All clear – we have three dome series in this round, so that is … nice? I guess? Good weather in Philly though.
- Christopher Sanchez (DK: $8700, FD: $9500) … Why am I not worried about Philly without Wheeler in the playoffs? This guy. He exceeded expectations for me and should be down right amped up for this game.
- George Kirby (DK: $8500, FD: $10k) … As I mentioned, Detroits offense is making me nervous about them advancing.
- Freddy Peralta (DK: $8300, FD: $9400) … Strikeout upside hopefully offsets the Seiya Suzuki 2 HR game.
PHILLIES
- I think Ohtani starting in this game is a massive mistake by the Dodgers & will end up being the main reason they lose the series. He’s going to get Ambushed by Philly.
- Turner, Schwarber, Bohm
YANKEES
- If any of the first round offenses likely carry over here, it’s New York. Judge gets to head to Toronto which is going to be a nightmare for the Jays & a benefit for the man behind him — Mr. Bellinger most likely.
- Also like Vlad, Varsho & Santander in this series for Toronto.
CUBS/BREWERS
- Suzuki & Happ
- Turang / Durbin / Collins … Cubs bullpen has been much improved — that ends in this series.
