Here is what we have on the slate for today, Tuesday, December 30th. It’s a Tuesday, in between Xmas and New Years… You are watching College Football games. You are happy. There’s no major weather issues for any of the games, but even though they’re Bowl games none are in super warm temps either.
INDEPENDENCE BOWL
You are looking live at Independence Stadium in lovely Shreveport, Louisiana. Today the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and still to this day, when someone asks, what exactly is a Chanticleer, the answer is …

It seems like Tad Hudson is going to be in at Quarterback instead of Samari Collier. In the four games Collier started, Coastal averaged 42.3 points per game (3-0 in games he also finished). This game has shoot the moon potential big time as neither defense did anything resembling defense down the stretch. I think we are going to see some heavy ownership early on a couple key players in this game which opens up good GPP pivot options.
- PICK: Over 51.5
THE MUSIC CITY BOWL
You are looking live at THE MUSIC CITY BOWL, from lovely downtown Nashville, Tennessee where today the Volunteers and Illini square off in one of the most underrated Bowl games each season. A great atmosphere should be expected and two quality teams squaring off. With both teams being pretty well off in terms of opt-outs and transfers, this game likely stays close and finishes right on the total number (which currently is at 61.5…. If we get a slow 1H, we hammer the 2H Over, and vice versa).
I think the Illini are the side to lean on as they’re more likely trending towards a build up scenario and I trust Luke Altmyer more than Joey Aguilar. But this is more of an in game look for a cold or hot stretch and go opposite spot. For DFS, we’re invested in the Illinois passing game (Altmyer-Beatty) and DeSean Bishop as the one key opt out is obviously Chris Brazzell for Tennessee and that means Bishop should get some more touches rushing it.
- PICK: In game margin
- Slight lean on Illinois ML
ALAMO BOWL
And finally, you are looking live at The Alamodome, sight of the New Orleans Saints miserable 2005 home season and tonights Alamo Bowl game between USC and TCU, two programs that everyone loves to make fun of.
If USC does not let Maiava throw for 4 TD today then someone is getting fired or shot out of a cannon. Josh Hoover is opting out for TCU while Makai Lemon is out for USC going to the draft. Don’t care for USC, because they still draw the TCU mediocre pass defense & are a system/tempo play. Yes, I love USC and will be on them to cover the -6.5 in a 20 point win.
- PICK: USC -6.5
- Slight Lean on OVER 55.5

Jayden Maiava (USC – $8000)
My number one QB today. I don’t care that his WR1 is gone, he is a system play.
Trey Kukuk (La Tech – $7300)
He has 35 rushes over the last two games when they have let him get full playing time and has gone for 300+ yards. The match-up today is also good and so I would be shocked if he wasn’t getting 12-15 rushing calls again and broke a big one for a touchdown.
Luke Altmyer (Illinois – $7700)
Pivot off Kukuk fade.

DeSean Bishop (Tennessee – $7000)
This is my CORE RB play. The rest of the options have some if/and question marks where as I know the Vols will let Bishop get into the end zone.
Jeremy Payne (TCU – $5600)
Josh Hoover being out should have us all on the TCU running backs, this is the sneaky play today.
Andrew Burnette (La Tech – $5100)
Clay Thevenin is also an optoin for Louisina Tech, but with needing some extra $ for two QB I would start here and try to build around Burnette. I would not use both with Kukuk because there’s just no way more than 2 of them have a strong day. But pairing both RB would be an interesting fade on Kukuk
King Miller (USC – $6700)
Fine to play with Maiava in a full USC stack
This position will by far win and decide the entire 3 game slate. It’s a thin WR slate and so Eric McAlister is clearly the “best” WR on the slate, but playing with a new Quarterback & even though Seals is a Senior, I’m just not saying we have to play McAlister — however WR is thin, so finding 3 you trust might be daunting because McAlister should have a floor of 12 fpts.
Tanook Hines (USC – $5200)
No Makai Lemon, no problem. The system elevates the next man up.
Hank Beatty (Illinois – $5700)
This is an easy one but maybe not a slate winner. While the Vols are more of a pass yards and then rush TD funnel, I don’t mind him not scoring because that just means downside on the QB. But 7 catches is a very realistic expectation for 70+ yards. If we get lucky he hits 100 yards for just the second time this season.
Braylon Staley (Tennessee – $6100)
If someone is going to offset McAlister it will either be one of his teammates (LOL, no) or someone in the Music City Bowl. Staley’s capable of a big game and should once again lead the Vols in targets.
Walker Lyons (USC – $3000)
