The Dongers Club – June 8th

WEATHER

All Clear of any PPD risk

The Brewers and Athletics series will be played in Las Vegas.   If you are wondering, yes, the stadium is obviously really good for hitters.

This is the pitchers slate.  You have to be pretty crazy conspiracy theorist to think that the Baseballs are going to be juiced enough to blow up every pitcher tonight (**** KISS OF DEATH ****).   Thus on one hand, you just pick anyone, but on the other, how can you not want to pay up and take 30 potentials?

Cristopher Sanchez (DK: $11,500)

Vlad just isn’t going to hit until August and knowing how the Jays look he might just take the rest of the year off at that point.  Without him producing this lineup is a little starved of RH threats on a consistent basis because Okamoto has cooled off and Alejandro Kirk isn’t quite back yet (although there’s a chance he returns this series).  But for now, we trust the hottest pitcher in May and into June.

Miles Mikolas (DK: $5000)

You might want to go digging here for a cheap SP2 just to fit a full team stack in that Vegas game.  Or, in general to get some good one off OF out there tonight.  Mikolas is certainly not going to post a 30, but he is going to every once and a while manage to go 5 innings when not in a really hitter friendly spot.  Giants had a long trip back from Chicago last night (or this morning?) and now they gotta turn around and try to hit at home — something they don’t do well.

Spencer Arrighetti (DK: $9500)

In the – he was also pitching well – category is Arrigheti, who had a big blowup with the NL Pirates, but now gets a familiar and not great at avoiding strikeouts Angels lineup.  I’m moving him down to third because I just don’t see Sanchez having a hard time in Toronto & I don’t see some good bats failing tonight.  Thus, how do you confidently have Arighetti in your lineup without Sanchez?  You…  Don’t.  So he’s more of a FD play or a “I got really creative with my bats and made it work” pick.

DONT LOVE

  • Gavin Williams:  Yanks just saw him and did fine.  It would make perfect sense to see an almost repeat performance today.
  • Logan Webb:  I think he is a trap – Too many Nats are good sinker hitters & Webb remains oddly bad at home

BREWERS / ATHLETICS

DraftKings actually did a good job here on the pricing, make it like a Mexico or Coors series.  Your catcher should and will come from this game.

  • MIL:  William Contreras, Luis Rengifo
  • ATH:  Shea Langeliers, Colby Thomas, Brent Rooker, Henry Bolte

MARINERS

Baltimore gets into a Bullpen game with Trey Gibson starting but likely not lasting long here.  Wind is blowing out to LF in good/warm Camden weather, but I still think the Mariners lefties are you’re strong side

  • Luke Raley
  • Josh Naylor
  • Dominic Canzone

PADRES

San Diego can handle mediocre fastballs.  I really hope Abbott is chalky tonight because the Pads to me should finally wake up and not only tear him up, but also Tito Francona’s worst bullpen ever.

  • Fernando Tatis Jr
  • Miguel Andujar
  • Manny Machado
  • Ty France
