I personally do not think you should be playing MLB DFS right now, but then if you are like me you’ll be sitting there at 6PM tonight and just thinking to yourself, man, what if Maikel Franco hits 2 home runs again tonight and I missed out on that?
Alright, maybe you won’t be obsessing over Maikel Franco tonight, but none the less I know you’re looking to play if you are here.
So how can we find a way to keep playing when half the league is already mailed it in for the playoffs and the other half can’t wait to get this short season over with and they can go back to not having to wear a mask in the dugouts and go out to eat without fear of getting in trouble for spreading COVID around their clubhouse?

Framber Valdez
Seattle is close to clinching and Valdez has a ton of strikeout upside.
Blake Snell
If you think Snell will go deeper than 5 or maybe 5 1/3 IP tonight then you are mistaken. But even in the short amount of innings he should throw tonight he has potential to be a solid play in your DFS lineups due to his high strikeout upside against the Mets. There’s no deGrom lock button top Ace tonight, so consider Snell good enough or just go full mid range on your pitchers with some riskier kids below.
Brady Singer
DraftKings is giving us some bait tonight having him at only $6,900. While the price tag is most definitely nice he is facing a team in the Cardinals that have not hit sliders very well this season. His sinker down in the zone type action could benefit Goldschmidt and Dejong but given how cold they are as a team, I can trust Singer again.
Also of slight interest on DraftKings:
- Keegan Akin – Boston is dead men walking
- Tarik Skubal – Terrifies me if the Twins want to keep pushing to chase the White Sox, but they have recently clinched and could take the night off.
Just remember that if you are out here looking for a team to roll up 10 or more runs right now you are doing it wrong. A five run game is a solid outing for an offense these days.
Texas at Arizona (Chase Field)
Neither team is dominant offensively but they both have good home run power and if any game is going to produce homers, it’s potentially a late season Chase Field open roof game. Kole Calhoun continues to prove he is for real and this is a great match-up for David Peralta as well.
Atlanta hosting Miami
Someone I know predicted that Truist Park would wind up as the number one stadium for this short season and while statistically it won’t get there, it has been one of the better spots all season. Tonight the Braves are likely to beat up their old friend Jose Urena, who hasn’t exactly fared too well against Ronald Acuna in his career. Probably a very wise decision tonight to get four Braves into a lineup and move on.
Baltimore vs Boston
It’s Nick Pivetta on the other side, plus the Boston bullpen. Not to mention Baltimore has oddly hit well away from Camden this season. After that little hot streak, DJ Stewart has come back down to earth but I would think that changes tonight.
Kansas City
I was kind of joking about Maikel Franco above, but yes I like the Royals against Austin Gomber with wind blowing out to LF tonight. Whit-Franco-Dozier.
Throw in that a few guys here are hitting LHP very well of late (Whit, Salvy) and on DraftKings there’s not a better value play on the board than Jorge Soler at $2,500 tonight. It’s a mistake because he just came off the IL and for some reason they dropped his price down. Site specific stack here, but Royals are great value on DK tonight.
Quick Hitting Thoughts
Josh Rojas (2B) should lead off for Arizona tonight and is only $2,200 on FanDuel, making him a great value lead off play there at a weak position
The Marlins hitters should most definitely be on your radar tonight as well. Bryse Wilson may not go long but he’s struggled with RH batters and that screams Marte, Aguilar, Anderson as a Marlins RH powerstack.

Houston was a dud last night but is once again in a spot to clinch and facing a weak pitching staff.
