The Dongers Club – Thu – April 15th (Early)

DraftKings with SIX games early today as they have included the Orioles-Mariners early game and the Phillies-Mets early game.

FanDuel just couldn’t have the slate lock at 12:10, had to lock at 12:20.  No earlier, you gotta have those extra ten minutes to tinker there.

  • Philadelphia at New York is a full 9 inning game (DK Only)
  • Boston at Minnesota is a full 9 inning game
  • Seattle at Baltimore is a 7 inning double header (DK Only)

WEATHER

Or maybe FanDuel is the sharp company here?  The Phils-Mets game looks like a definitive wash out today.  Divisional game, Ace pitcher on the mound, yeah no need to play this game Mets.

Jacob deGrom

I doubt the game actually plays, but if it does we once again have deGrom under 12K so therefore he is in play.  The Phillies in the first time through the order against Walker and Peterson struck out a combined 13 times.  They’re not exactly being very patient at the dish so no need to be concerned with deGrom not getting enough strikeouts.  He is in fact, still Jacob deGrom.

Ian Anderson

Anderson is my guy on FanDuel today and my SP1 on DraftKings if Jake doesn’t pitch.  Will he finally be the one to shut down the Marlins bats?  He should and Morton is not as good in terms of strikeouts as Anderson should be here but Morton was pretty good in that aspect last night.   I know the Fish look hot, but they’re still the Fish and Anderson has the tools to wind up as the top scoring pitcher on this slate if deGrom is washed out.   Anderson doesn’t give up any hard contact at all and he will pitch a gem today.

Chris Paddack

Padres are going to white wash the Pirates today and I’m not exactly sure what the term means but I think it is probably X rated and just take the Padres every single which direction you can today.  Including the solid start from Paddack.

Marco Gonzales

If deGrom is washed out then we might need a third pitcher to go with the other two as another option.  Soft tossing Marco G should get some strikeout boost against the Orioles today which helps him hit value on a short slate.

SAN DIEGO

Trent Grisham, Eric Hosmer, Jake Cronenworth

San Diego is good because of their pitching and defense, but when they can get someone not effective like Mitch Keller they should pounce.  Great spot for the Padres lefties today.

WHITE SOX

Jose Abreu, Luis Robert, Adam Eaton

Such an emotional team that when they are on you ride them and with the No Hitter, Tim Anderson IS POSSIBLY BACKthe lineup seemingly waking up last night we can jump on board even against a respectable pitcher and bullpen.  Load up on Jose Abreu in all of your White Sox stacks,  he has been cold but should turn it on now.

Update – Not sure on Tim Anderson actually.  Saw one report that had him still out but another has him back.

SEATTLE

Mitch Haniger, Jose Marmolejos, Kyle Seager

Yeah, it’s Harvey in a day game, pretty straight forward here until we see a massive change from Harvey.   The hottest bats on Seattle are Kyle Seager and Jose Marmolejos who is $3,600 and likely hitting cleanup for the M’s today.

One spot to ignore today is the studs for Atlanta.  They rake vs LHP normally, but Rogers is a very good young arm for the Marlins and I expect Riley/Swanson to have good games for Atlanta, so as much as Acuna/Freeman/Ozuna/d’Arnaud all are going to pop off as logical plays, this is the spot to consider fading.
