The usual mid week split afternoon / night slates are back with plenty of day games today and then the main slate locking early around 6 pm as well. This is going to cover the 3:10 PM EST slate with 5 games on both FanDuel and Draftkings
WEATHER
Windy. That’s the story here and no Wrigley Field is not involved. The wind is INSANE in Washington and blowing left to right which has benefited hitters greatly in this park in the history.
Wind is also blowing out in Anaheim, Oakland and San Diego.
All five games play. None are extremely warm.

KENTA MAEDA
Love Maeada over Max as the SP1 play today but both are in play on FanDuel as your only SP. Kenta will get a lineup that is RH heavy outside of Olson, Moreland and SH Lowrie and he should be able to continue his dominance over RH hitters. He usually attacks them with one of his better pitches (slider) and gets plenty of strikeouts from that side of the plate. Look for a solid outing from Meada.
MAX SCHERZER
Max gives the Cardinals fits but he won’t be perfectly clean today in my mind as he’ll allow 1-2 home runs. But the point of Max is you know you will get 100+ pitches and you know you will get 7-8 strikeouts minimum. With a short slate and limited hitting, we should just take the best path to getting two good SP scores today and that has to include Max.
DINELSON LAMET
Lamet should be limited today because the Padres bullpen isn’t an issue and they also shouldn’t thrust him straight into action after just losing Morejon for the season. But even at $9,000 Lamet should be in play for the massive amount of swing and misses he can get against a bad offense.

ANGELS
Always Angels is back after a little break over the weekend. They went off last night on the Rangers pen and get Folty today. Great spot for the RH hitters too like Upton and that Trout guy – but the value here is getting value Angels bats with the higher priced pitchers, so Scott Schebler + Justin Upton + Anthony Bemboom can win this slate for you.
CARDS / NATS
It’s gonna feel a little cold but not freezing bitter cold and a cold game in KC last night certainly didn’t stop that one from producing runs now did it? I know the Nationals may look really bleak now without Soto but we saw Josh Bell get #1 last night and I expect a big doubles day from him today vs Carlos Martinez — who has been one of the worst pitchers in 2021.
Two Cardinals are gonna homer and my money would be on Arenado and Carlson.
