The Dongers Club – June 23rd – Early

Just another day in paradise as we have a golden opportunity for site synchronicity with a 6 game early slate, and yet we have two 3 game slates on FanDuel, so just throw their application out the window today.

Absolutely no weather issues today.

Brandon Woodruff (DK: $10,300)

Another roof closed game in Arizona and he is the safest top end pitcher on what is a top heavy early/afternoon set of arms.  The decision for top SP today comes down to Woodruff, Gausman and for some Ohtani.  But Gausman and Ohtani are in the warmest/most risk game and although they are good to not get blown up, I also don’t see them having the cruise control ability that Woody should have against Arizona.

Dylan Cease (DK: $9,400)

Not only do I expect the White Sox offense to rebound today but Cease is someone I like to pitch an absolute gem this afternoon against the Pirates.

German Marquez (DK:  $6,500)

This is too good of a price on DK to pass up Marquez, who like Freeland last night, gets a bad Mariners offense in a spot where the Rockies should let him go as long as he needs too today.  Marquez would not shock me to wind up as the highest scoring pitcher on this slate.

TIGERS

Baddoo, Schoop, Candelario

I don’t see the need to force in two of the higher priced pitchers today, but the Tigers offense will be the combination to make it fit.  They’re good value facing John Gant who has been rough at times to say the least over his last month and should have a really hard time getting around Schoop and Baddoo, who the Tigers have put back in the lead off role.

WHITE SOX

Anderson, Moncada, Abreu, Lamb, Goodwin

We give the White Sox another chance today and once again Yasmani Grandal should homer, only this time we’ll play him because he likely gets the start instead of being called upon off the bench to save them.  Chase De Dong is on the hill for the Pirates, so the White Sox are easily the #1 team we want to utilize.

NATIONALS vs PHILLIES

Turner, Soto, Harper, Realmuto

This game should be fun, no?  How many Phillies batters get hit, or do the Nationals just say ah nah, we’ll let Girardi look like a fool.  Soto-Turner-Harrison for Washington and the core of Harper-Hoskins-Realmuto for the Phillies.  This isn’t a 10-9 type game, but the slate overall is going to be a bunch of 5-3 and 4-2 type scores where you need that solo HR or double to really push you over.  I see lots of balls in play here…  No Max, not those kind of balls, put your pants back on man!
