The Dongers Club – July 27th

Happy random Tuesday everyone.  All MLB teams are playing tonight and no double header 7 inning games to worry about.

It’s hot and heavy trade season and Tyler Anderson can be removed from your player pool tonight ladies and gentlemen as he is traded from the Pirates to the Phillies.  Congrats Tyler!

WEATHER

Toronto at Boston – Rain here, good chance of it being called early or being rushed along.  Should start on time with late game rain risk.

Sandy Alcantra

Two less than stellar starts in a row for Sandy could keep his ownership down.  But his last start was a really hot afternoon game against the Phillies in which he imploded in one inning and just wound up just missing his spots with all of his pitches.  This is a great rebound spot to probably not dominate with a 25+ score, but certainly Sandy has the ability to get back to going 6 strong, with little damage and a good strike to ball ratio.

Austin Gomber

The young Rockies lefty is having a good season and should have a chance to put up a really good late score against an Angels squad that is a  little weak vs LHP

Kenta Maeda

If Kenta gets the same strike zone that Michael Pineda got last night then he should carve through the Tigers tonight.  Chances are he won’t, but he certainly has a much higher grade for me today than Pineda did and Pineda obviously was striking out the Tigers a ton last night early on.  Kenta’s been great since his last IL stint and should be trusted today.

Also okay using

-Shane McClanahan:  I Loooooooooooove the Rays ML tonight.

-Julio Urias

-Taylor Widener

Do not worry about who is chalk or popular today.  When breaking down the games on this slate and teams to consider  tonight I found it so hard to really find a collective group of hitters that I loved today that I went and started drinking before 3PM.  Now, you are probably wondering why that is note worthy, I mean it is a random Tuesday after all and on a random Tuesday you should be more than clear to drink earlier than normal.  And by earlier than normal, I mean before 11am right?

Bottom line here is just trust your gut on a team tonight, you will want an anchor 4 man stack with optimal one offs that are in that 4000-5000 range on DraftKings.  FanDuel pricing is tight again but still a little easier to navigate.  I am choosing to find the mid range bats tonight to get a nice balanced lineup and to avoid playing garbage players like Carter Kieboom.

Astros

Gurriel, Correa, Alvarez, Tucker

I will be expecting another good game from Houston tonight in what looks like it will be a high scoring series.  The Astros against Flexen look extremely favorable because Flexen does not strike out lefties and gets hit hard by righties.  With Houston, he’s going to find a hard time getting Brantley, Alvarez and Tucker to strike out and Gurriel/Correa (who finally woke up as predicted) should be able to get 4-seamers to lock in on and drive hard for RBI/big hits tonight.

Marlins

Marte, Aguilar, Duvall

Like Marlins in a great park shift against Spenser who has really been lucky of late.

Braves

Joc, Freeman, Dansby, Riley

Atlanta projects to be one of the lowest owned teams tonight despite drawing Jerad (not Ja-red, Je-rad) Eickhoff opening for the Mets, who are a little depleted right no on the pitching front after some earyl exists, a thin rotation and the double header yesterday.  Love this game for both sides to produce offense but the Atlanta side is the one who has a really good shot at dropping 5 runs before the slate is even 13 minutes old tonight.  If you are a multi-lineup or multi-site person you MUST have at least one Braves tack today IMO.
