IDAHO ‘FAMOUS’ POTATO BOWL

The Idaho Famous Potato Bowl between Wyoming and Kent State kicks things off this afternoon at 3:30 pm EST.
Wyoming comes in as a -3 point favorite and should have a major advantage on the ground with Xazavian Valladay and Titus Swen leading the way. For DFS purposes you could roll with both or combine Valladay with QB Levi Williams who should rush it enough to justify using him here although we have a fairly good QB slate considering there are only two games.
I love Wyoming to consistently win the game, but favorites mean nothing in Bowl Season and once again we are seeing a scenario where whichever team comes out better early on is going to wind up winning the game. One thing that is VERY consistent in CFB Bowl games is that if you have a team who is up by two scores at the half they’re not going to blow it in these non playoff bowl games unless of course the other team’s Quarterback is legendary Greg Ward Jr (the best bowl game comeback ever). Anyways, the point here is we’ll want to watch this one early on and my guess is that it stays close but Wyoming wins by 10 in the end and yes this has potential to be a shootout as the overs continue to dominate Bowl games.
This game could wind up being all about the sneaky plays however. For Wyoming their sneaky play in this game should be the WR and Joshua Cobbs is a big 6’4 freshman who saw 14 targets over their last two games. He is really cheap and makes a ton of sense here. Meanwhile Kent State was a major let down back on Championship Saturday and one of the players who disappointed big time was star RB Marquez Cooper. I can see him being overlooked here and wind up stealing the show from Crumm. I would not play them both together, so it’s one or the other.

FRISCO BOWL
We go from the awesomeness of the Idaho Famous Potato Bowl to the … Fisco bowl. Just boring if you ask me, but here we are with two good teams in San Diego State and UTSA but this is arguably my favorite play on the entire day. Love me some Road Runners who are going to be slightly contrarian of a pick given that their best offensive player to many Sincere McCormick is skipping the game to declare for the NFL draft. Not a problem, because they will shred San Diego State through the air today.
Everything should go through QB Frank Harris and you can definitely score via the pass on San Diego State, where as you have no shot running on them. So I expect UTSA to throw it through their Senior QB and let him win/control the game.
UTSA was fairly good against the run against weak opponents but it’s not like San Diego state has a high powered rushing attack here to find gaps in their defense. This should setup for UTSA to get out early and force a team who can’t really score fast into bad situations. From a DFS perspective the other game is the good chalk but do not over look the UTSA passing game in this one
Top DFS Plays
- San Diego State
- Jesse Matthews – WR – $6,300
- UTSA
- Frank Harris – QB – $7,300
- Zakhari Franklin – WR – $5,500
- DeCorian Clark – WR – $4,600
- Brenden Brady – RB – $4,000 – Expected to carry the bulk of the workload. Is a good value because of that.
