CBB DFS: The ONIONS – Sun 3/20

Ohio State vs Villanova (-5.5)

Now that the Buckeyes are healthy they can actually compete in this type of game.  Another game with two very evenly matched teams and there are two guys that I think can blow up for both sides.

  • OSU:  Malakai Branham
  • NOVA:  Justin Moore

Michigan State vs Duke (-6.5)

This is now or never for Paolo Banchero to absolutely take over a game and cement himself as a true #1 pick candidate over Jabari Smith.   His athleticism should shine.  No, I am not expecting Duke to bow out just yet.

  • MSU:  AJ Hoggard
  • DUKE:   Paolo Banchero

Miami vs Auburn (-7.5)

Here we go, grab the popcorn and lets let it fly.  Isaiah Wong is going to drop 20 real points today, Charlie Moore will keep Miami in the game and of course we are riding Jordan Miller some more.  Stack this game multiple ways for multi-entry and for certain I expect Wendell Green to hit value for the Tigers and either Kessler or Smith will have a solid game as well.   Start with this game.

  • Miami:   Isaiah Wong, Charlie Moore, Jordan Miller
  • Auburn:    Wendell Green,

Texas vs Purdue (-3.5)

Another great game which is later tonight and the Texas guards are going to really give Purdue fits.  We gotta consider Andrew Jones, Marcus Carr and Courtney Ramey a lot.

  • Texas:    Marcus Carr, Courtney Ramey/Andrew Jones
  • Purdue:  Zach Edey, Jaden Ivey

TCU vs Arizona (-9.5)

I can see TCU hanging around for a while in this one, they will need to try and cope with the pace of Arizona though and in the end the Wildcats are just better and deeper like Gonzaga was vs Memphis.

  • TCU:    Mike Miles
  • Arizona:     Bennedict Mathurin

Wendell Green – Auburn – $6,600

This is my number one game of the day and our number one player of the day.  Auburn is going to be forced into a tight contest which will benefit Green.

  • Game Correlation Play:    Isaiah Wong (Miami)

Marcus Carr – Texas – $5,800

The Longhorns will put Purdue on upset watch and it’s on the perimeter where the Boilermakers just go to sleep defensively.  Carr, Jones and Ramey all take 4+ three’s per game but Carr is the assist leader on the team and so I like him to translate best for DFS.

  • Game Correlation Play:    Jaden Ivey (Purdue)

A.J. Hoggard – Michigan State – $5,200

One thing we know about Duke is that they probably won’t come out and suddenly play great defense today.  Especially not against PG’s and Hoggard has 30 point upside on a good day.

  • Game Correlation Play:   Paolo Banchero (Duke)

Overall Tiers

The Mid Range is the deepest tier today.

High End ($$$)

  1. Paolo Banchero – Duke
  2. Bennedict Mathurin – Arizona
  3. Jabari Smith – Auburn
  4. Johnny Davis – Wisconsin

Mid Range ($$)

  1. Wendell Green – Auburn
  2. Marcus Carr – Texas
  3. Isaiah Wong – Miami
  4. Justin Moore – Villanova
  5. Malaki Branham – Ohio State
  6. Jordan Miller – Miami
  7. Andrew Jones – Texas
  8. Charlie Moore – Miami

Value ($)

  1. AJ Hoggard – Michigan State
  2. Kyle Young – Ohio State
  3. Davion Warren – Texas Tech
  4. Courtney Ramey – Texas
  5. Juwan Roberts – Houston (Sub 4k)

Marcus Carr – Texas

The outside shooting for Texas is the key to this upset today.  It’s not a HUGE upset per say but it’s always fun to see the Big 10 darlings lose.  Texas is the prime ‘Guards in March’ type team to take down Purdue today led by Carr.

The Onions! play is my favorite play on the slate to have a 6x or better game.
