If at any point you enjoyed last night then you either just randomly picked some shit out of thin air or are a freak. And I mean that as a compliment to be honest, because it has little to do with getting players or teams or anything right versus wrong and everything to do with the lack of quality Baseball last night. And by last night I of course mean, most of this season as at some point we have to maybe call a spade a spade and say that these guys just aren’t that good.
No, this isn’t going to turn into some long rant about how back in my day Baseball was filled with guys who played the right way or yada yada yada, someone go grab me another Lemonade because it’s hot out.
No, I’m just saying look, these guys just can’t fucking hit.
It’s not the weather. It shouldn’t be the humidors (*although I am quickly working on a conspiracy related to this*) and it’s not spider tack or velocities being too high. Nope. These guys just fucking suck at hitting. Can someone please explain to me why the Philadelphia Phillies cannot hit or score in a good offensive park in the National League? What the hell is going on there?
If the offense doesn’t wake up soon then I am not sure it will all season.

A cold game in Coors with a Ground Ball pitcher. Give me the value of Marquez today and take the stack options down below from hitting. I think there is a decent chance we see the Mets roll out a B lineup for the first game of their double-header today and Marquez is coming off two back to back 6 inning, 3 ER starts. He can beat that today.
NESTOR CORTES
Nestor was going to be #1 on the article last night before the rain out, so he gets a nod back in today among the Starting Pitchers for today’s afternoon short slate. One of my traditions is taking the under on Yankee Saturday afternoon home games and that just further adds to my desire to use Nestor as a primary pitcher today.

MARINERS at RED SOX
Unless you tell me that Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez are going to show up and pitch this game I am not playing without 5+ hitters from Fenway Pawk today.
Seattle has the luxury of likely seeing 4+ Innings from Boston’s bulpen as Whitlock is still capped out at 80-85 pitches and he hasn’t gone past 5 innings all season long. Unfortunately for the Mariners they aren’t really a good sinker ball hitting lineup outside of Jesse Winker who is an absolute must own in my mind.
Mariners: Jesse Winker, Mike Ford
Boston could be without Xander Bogaerts today but that’s alright since he hasn’t been hitting Change-Up’s very well and that is Flexen’s only out pitch vs RHB. For the Sox, Devers and Mr. Saturday Club Trevor Story, who is white hot are core plays. If Xander does sit though we’ll want to see what they do with the lineup adjustments.

BLUE JAYS
Vlad Guerrero Jr had a 15 game hitting streak snapped with an 0-4 night last night. In that streak he had a grand total of three extra base hits, two of which came back on May the 3rd against the Yankees. For the entire month of May he has two doubles and 1 home run. That’s it.
A big reason why his production and other Jays production is down slightly is due to them seeing far less 4-seamers this season. Well, good news. That’s about all Hunter Greene is set to throw at them today. So if Toronto can avoid getting behind in counts this is going to be a blood bath.
