Overview
The trucks hit the road course of Sonoma Raceway this week with a mix of Camping World Truck Series regulars, NASCAR Cup Series regulars, and road-course ringers. Sonoma is a 12-turn asphalt 2.520-mile road course. The truck series hasn’t been here since 1998 so the Cup regulars and road-course ringers will have even more of an advantage than normal in this type of setting. With only 75 laps in this race, place differential and finishing positions are both paramount and pit strategy will reign supreme. With qualifying coming late in the afternoon, any drastic updates will be posted on the NASCAR channel in Discord.

Top Drivers
Zane Smith ($10,300)
Smith is coming off his second consecutive top-10 finish and won at a road course earlier this season when he outlasted the field at Circuit of the Americas. Smith has three wins in total this season and in that road course event earlier in the season he outlasted the likes of Kyle Busch and Alex Bowman along with other truck series standouts proving that he can hang with anyone on any track.
Ben Rhodes ($9,800)
Rhodes has a win on the Daytona Raod Course in his career and a top-five finish at COTA under his belt this season as he continues to defend his Series Championship. Rhodes has seen his salary drop from $10,700 last week after an eighth-place finish. With some elevated salaries attached to some Cup drivers who may struggle to hit value, Rhodes could find himself a sneaky good play depending on qualifying.
Christian Eckes ($9,300)
Not many are running as well as Eckes right now as he’s finished in the top-five in each of his last five races. Earlier this season at COTA Eckes finished sixth and was consistently running in the top-10. He was the fastest driver in practice running 17 laps and could carry his recent momentum into victory lane.
Also Consider:
Jade Buford ($5,600)
- Buford typically finds himself in an XFINITY car for the road courses on the schedule but this week he’s in a truck for the first time in his career. As a bargain play, Buford who has had respectable finishes at the INDY road course, COTA, Charlotte, and Mid-Ohio should be able to keep his truck clean and return a solid value.
Ross Chastain ($11,100)
- Chastain ran third-best in practice and his running his fifth truck race of the season. He’s been on a mission across the board this season including a truck series win at Charlotte his last time out.
Grant Enfinger ($8,300)
- Enfinger has three top threes in his last five races and had a 10th-place finish at COTA earlier this season. In seven road course races in a truck through his career, Enfinger has three top-10s, a top-five, and an average finish of 14th.
Timmy Hill ($6,100)
Kaz Grala ($8,100)
GOOD LUCK!!
