DYLAN CEASE
Big spot for Dylan Cease today against the white hot Athletics, right? He needs to try to prove he can go 7 innings or maybe throw over 100 pitches as well. But more notably, Cease has not allowed an ER in his last three starts and over his last 7 he hasn’t given up more than 1 ER in any start total. He’s pitching fantastic right now and can cement his name among the top AL Cy Young Candidates with another double digit strikeout game.
JORDAN MONTGOMERY
There’s a couple crafty lefties on this slate, one of them is good and the other is Jordan Montgomery. But Jordan Montgomery for DFS is the correct play in my mind against Kansas City who outside of Whit Merrifield and Salvy (who just got back) they don’t have much consistency vs lefties and I don’t like either of them today. Monty is coming off a tough start in Citi Field but should go through 6 today before giving up some dumb solo homer to Michael A Taylor to ruin his shutout.
PABLO LOPEZ
A little South Beach Sunday potentially? Data doesn’t say that Lopez balls but he also should not get rocked which helps play into our confidence on the South Beach Theory. Honestly I cannot find a good reason beyond “oh, its Sunday” to tell you not to play Taijuan Walker in the same game either, but we do have a good amount of pitching options so I’ll pass.

Other pitching thoughts.
This is a very good pitching slate and some other guys like Walker, Fried, McClanahan and Nola will eat up ownership.
Nola should not have any issues with Pittsburgh but rain could cause his start to get cut short and McClanahan has a team in the Guardians who obviously have low strikeout rates but I am more concerned with the Innings wall he is driving towards.
I like Fried a little, not a lot, just a little.

The Sunday Sleeper
Nobody that I want to actually use. I think Austin Voth and Josiah Gray will pitch good but Voth lacks K% and Gray has too many potential blow up issues to use him over some of the depth we have up top on this slate.

Milwaukee Brewers
Adames, Tellez, Renfroe
Good low ball hitting team gets a sinkerballer who isn’t that good in warm Fenway Park. One of the reasons I feel more confident in Milwaukee is that they’re not only on the road but facing a team with a very bad bullpen so much like yesterday we can see late inning hammers come through to help out the stack.
Houston Astros
Bregman, Alvarez, Altuve, Pena
Houston is going to Ambush George Kirby today. Look for a big first inning to carry this play and I don’t mind rolling out some Mariners in the game as well because eventually Odorizzi gets hammered on a Sunday. Altuve/Pena to lead things off (hopefully) will be must owns.
Washington Nationals
Juan Soto, Luis Garcia, Yadiel Hernndez
This is potentially the send off for Soto, he homers today and the Nationals are going to have one of their patented Sunday home games where they find a way to put up 6+ runs and you are wondering who the hell on this lineup helped them do that?
