Last year’s winner of this race led 60 of the 149 laps for his first win at Texas in 10 tries. Overall, Friesen has been good at Texas in his truck career posting four top-fives, five top-10’s the one win, and an average finish of 13.5. Although is average finish isn’t spectacular, if you take out the three races he’s wrecked out of, his average finish looks a lot better at 7.28. No matter where Friesen has started he’s always seemed to produce at this track.
On the surface Hocevar has had a rough start through four races. In two of those races he has finished of 31st and 34th, one because of an axle issue and the other due to a wreck. In his other two races, Hocevar has posted finishes of 12th (Daytona) and seventh (Las Vegas) where he led 19 laps. The talent is there, the equipment is typically good, and he has an average finish of 7.5 in two races at Texas including a 4th place finish last year.
It’s been a hot start to the season for Majeski, driver of the 98 ThorSport Racing truck with three top-10’s and an average finish of fourth. Coming off of a fifth-place finish at Texas last year, Majeski looks to be turning a corner as he looks to develop on the potential he’s always had. Majeski has consistently performed well at similar tracks and should contend for the win today.
