Stacks That I Have My Eye On
Below I’ll break down the particular stacks I’m interested and delve into it based on matchup, ability, predicted game script, and collective salary while picking an opposing player or two to run that stack back with if appropriate. *Note: All pricing is DraftKings focusedBuffalo Bills vs. Las Vegas Raiders
QB Josh Allen, WR Stefon Diggs, WR Gabe Davis When the Raiders have to fly across the country to Buffalo to take on the Bills in a 1:00 p.m. Eastern game they’re going to get their doors blown off by a pissed off Bills team that let Zach Wilson beat them on Monday Night Football. With all things considered the Raiders played a nice game in Week 1 picking up a big road win against the Broncos. The fun is over, I expect the Bills to decimated Las Vegas in this spot. The Raiders’ secondary is trash and Allen will be slinging that thing all day. Target number one is obviously Stefon Diggs. Buffalo played like dog shit on Monday and Diggs still hauled in 10/102/1 on 13 targets. Gabe Davis is like the modern day Desean Jackson. Some weeks he’ll go 2/32 (last week) others he’ll go something like 4/117 and a touchdown. This matchup shows that the upside for the latter is there so long as the Bills can execute which they will. Allen is going bananas in this game.
Run it Back: WR Davante Adams
This is a pretty obvious bring back but worth discussing a bit nonetheless. In Week 1 Adams had a modest 6/66 line on nine targets as he saw shutdown corner Patrick Surtain II on 66 percent of his routes. Adams might see some Tre’Davius White in this matchup but I don’t expect him to be blanketed by him. Adams will see a ton of targets here throughout and in garbage time, especially if Jakobi Meyers (concussion protocol) is out.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
QB Joe Burrow, WR Tee Higgins Speaking of looking bad Week 1 how about the Bengals. Holy hell. Burrow and the boys will bounce back at home in a game that we should expect much better conditions. Cincy was simply ambushed (LOL) and had no answer for the Browns in Week 1. Sure, Burrow and Higgins have not been dominant over the years against the Ravens but this Ravens defense is not the same defense it’s been for years. Their secondary let Nico Collins and Robert Woods combine for 12 receptions for 137 yards in Week 1 for cryin’ out loud. There’s a lot to consider here from a competitive and common sense standpoint for. Burrow sucked and Higgins caught zero (0) passes in Week 1. This is a home, division game against historically a tough opponent. Despite what the data says, to me the Bengals come out here with their foot on the gas with a concentrated effort to get the ball to Tee Higgins. Note: This isn’t a slack on Ja’Marr Chase, I simply think this is a Tee Higgins game and I’ll take the $1,500 discount with that. Run it Back: WR Zay Flowers Flowers impressed Week 1 and Lamar Jackson was looking his way. The thing I like most about Flowers is his ability to run after the catch and not rely on Lamar Jackson to be accurate with the ball downfield. As it stands now, Mark Andrews is questionable which makes Flowers more of a focal point for the Ravens. In Week 1 Flowers saw 10 targets hauling in nine of those passes for 78 yards. On the field for 54 of the 64 snaps it’s clear that Flowers has earned the trust of John Harbaugh.Detroit Lions vs Seattle Seahawks
QB Jared Goff, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown The Lions offense has seemingly a lot of mouths to feed but we’ll start with ARSB. Clearly the top choice for Goff who was able to spread the ball around well in Week 1 (22 completions to seven different receivers) in a tough matchup at Kansas City. I really, really wanted to put Jahmyr Gibbs or Sam Laporta in this stack but I just can’t. With Gibbs, he wasn’t used enough for me but hopefully that changes, but I have to see it. Laporta I feel better about adding in if looking for a third leg but still, he’s a rookie, who the hell knows. The potential third leg that stands out to me is Josh Reynolds (4/80 Week 1) who’s priced way down at $3,700. Reynolds saw seven targets to get there and was on the field for 49/70 snaps. He would be the third player I’d add on most occasions in a game/stack that should be pretty popular. Run it Back: WR D.K. Metcalf Despite have a horrendous game, Geno Smith managed to target Metcalf five times resulting in three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. Seattle only scored 13 points in this game, nothing was going on for them. This game should be different and Metcalf should have his way with this Detroit secondary.[spacer height=”13px”]
