CBB DFS – ONIONS! – 3/20

These Thursday/Friday slates are rough sometimes for DFS because of the fact that you’ll definitely have blowouts and you’ll also have some under priced guys on the lesser known teams.  This year it’s not as bad on the pricing front, but none the less one where you can definitely find a ton of paths to building a good lineup.

GEORGIA vs GONZAGA

My favorite “UPSET” on the board today.  The SEC has been massaged all season long and while it’s easy to say they are overhyped we are simply being blinded by a football school being a dog here against a known basketball school who just doesn’t have elite talent on the roster.   The battle of the dogs is going to the better conference and especially when you give me almost a full touchdown.

For Gonzaga, they have two options in Braden Huff and Ben Gregg (both bigs) that have alternated who is getting the run.  Look for news on who is in the starting lineup but when in doubt, lean on the starter.  Both are just value punts IMO.  The ball is going to be in Nembhards hands a ton late.

  • UGA:  Silas Demary, Asa Newell
  • GONZ:  Ryan Nembhard and Braden Huff or Ben Gregg

UC San Diego vs Michigan

  • CAL SAN DIEGO:  Aniwaniwa Tait Jones, Tyler McGhie
  • MICH:  Tre Donaldson

CREIGHTON vs LOUISVILLE

For DFS I hate that this is your first game out of the gate, but you know where the production is going to come from for both teams.  Creighton in my mind is done and had their shot in the BIG EAST tourney but if they get a remember me game from Ryan Kalkbrenner they’ll do fine here.

  • UL:  Chucky Hepburn ($9600)
  • CREI:  Ryan Kalkbrenner ($9700)

Alabama State vs Auburn

  • ALST:  TJ Madlock
  • AUB:  Denver Jones, Johni Broome

GUARDS

  1. Bez Mbeng – Yale – $7500 .. Considering the price he is easily the top play among all guards today
  2. Silas Demary – Georgia – $8100
  3. Ryan Nembhard – Gonzaga – $8200
  4. TJ Madlock – Alabama State – $6100
  5. Zeb Jackson – VCU – $5800 … Shulga and Jackson can get some steals here, this is a $2200 pivot off Shulga who isn’t a bad option as well.
  6. Javohn Garcia – McNeese State – $5700
  7. Donovan Newby – UNCW – $6000
  8. Blue Cain – Georgia – $6400

FORWARDS

  1. Keba Keita – BYU – $6000
  2. Steven Crowl – Wisconsin – $5300
  3. Ryan Kalkbrenner – Creighton – $9700
  4. Viktor Lakhin – Clemson – $6400 … McNeese is going to slow this game down as much as they can.  That limits the ceiling on Lahkin.
  5. Graham Ike – Gonzaga – $8700
  6. Zvonimir Ivisic – Arkansas – $5400

VALUE PLAYS

  • Denver Jones – Auburn – $4300 … This is looking like a projected chalk value play and it makes sense.  Jones consistently plays 30+ minutes and takes over 4 three pointers per game.  His floor is good enough to use him at this price.
  • Dallin Hall – BYU – $4000 … I like BYU to beat VCU and Hall’s profile could have a nice game, although not the top BYU option overall (that’s Keba Keita)
  • Braden Huff / Ben Gregg – Gonzaga

ONIONS! CORE PLAYS OF THE DAY

  • Bez Mbeng – Yale
  • Keba Keita – BYU
  • Denver Jones – Auburn
