WEATHER
Mostly just pop-up storms that could hit in a few spots, but the one which is most likely to be at risk is Phillies @ Braves because Atlanta storms can be violent despite being quick, and even a short 28 minute storm could bump the first of a 3 game series tonight to be played later.
The other games which are at risk of a delay in game are in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit. All should start and finish.
I only have two main pitchers tonight because I would lock in on them way above the field.
LOGAN GILBERT (DK: $10,000, FD: $10,500)
Gilbert’s third start since coming off the IL & another one in a climate controlled dome. He’ll be great today, so much so that I’ll go out and call a 7 IP, 0 ER, 10 strikeout outing tonight.
JOSE SORIANO (DK: $7400, FD: $9300)
No rain issues with Soriano & one of the better strikeout upsides on the slate. He has gotten a ton of whiffs lately and just does not give up home runs. For whatever reason DK has not priced him up at all yet either despite his strong run.
OTHER PITCHING NOTES
- Dustin May (DK: $7800) … Have to mention every SP against Kansas City, but unfortunately expecting May to pitch DEEP is the problem.
- Brayan Bello: ONLY if Vladdy sits
- Landen Roupp – I do not trust him outside of San Francisco

There’s a reason I say this is Lineups to Target rather than ‘STACKS’, because loading up on a specific stack will sometimes just lock you into blinders or a bad spot too often. However, after a quiet week of offense around the league with a ton of shutouts, the change of scenery and a good configuration of match-ups + warm weather should eventually produce some big 10+ run type games from teams.
The teams who stand out to me the most are (in no particular order), the Rays (in Baltimore), Blue Jays (in Fenway), Padres (in tiny Cincy), Cardinals (in Cleveland).
STLiC CARDINALS
Lars Nootbar, Brendan Donovan, Alec Burleson, Nolan Gorman
The Lefties in Cleveland with 90+ degree temps & ole Luis L Ortiz who has given up 8 HR to lefties on the year & a .429 SLG.
PADRES
Jackson Merrill, Gavin Sheets
Former Padre Nick Matrtinez gets the nod for the Reds and he hasn’t throw much since early June lasting < 3 IP each of his last three appearances.
OTHER TEAM NOTES
As humans we err on the side of believing that positive things are going to happen (well, most of us) at first, or at least we want them too. This is why most people bet overs. It’s why we tout too many teams to score a bunch of runs, and we wind up missing a lot. That said, I got guys/teams I want to make specific mention of this weekend
- Rays in Baltimore – Pencil in Brandon Lowe on Sunday homering.
- Jays in Boston – Vladdy and Bo always have that one big series in Fenway. This really feels like it.
- Giants in Chicago – A really ice cold team that started to wake up yesterday. Devers has always murdered the White Sox.
WEST COAST MAGIC
There are only two series this weekend west of Texas & they’re both really good ones IMO. It’ll limit the tilt slates and your Sunday afternoon 4PM slate is going to only be those two games as well.
- Marlins at Diamondbacks: Roof obviously closed all weekend – but do not ignore the Marlins. They’re hitting okay away from home. Stowers/Ramirez/Lopez are all having great PA’s right now & Zona’s bullpen is atrocious.
- Nationals at Angels: Nats are striking out a ton, but should have at least one big game here.

CATCHER
- Cal Raleigh … Eovaldi is no dummy, he will probably walk him & paying $6400 for any player in DFS on a 14 game slate feels rough. But Raleigh to homer? Yeah, very likely vs Nate.
- Martin Maldanado
- Agustin Ramirez
- Danny Jansen
FIRST BASE
- Nick Kurtz
- Ben Rice
- Nolan Schanuel
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
SECOND BASE
- Brendan Donovan
- Jorge Polanco
- Jose Altuve
- Brandon Lowe
THIRD BASE
- Rafael Devers
- Colt Keith
- Austin Riley … Riley has only 12 HR on the season but usually gets going on a heater around July
SHORTSTOP
- Otto Lopez
- Bo Bichette
- Mookie Betts
- Xander Bogaerts
OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore
- Lars Nootbar
- Jackson Merrill
- Riley Greene
- Mike Yastrzemski
