The Dongers Club – May 16th – Main

You know, I just now noticed as I go to post my article that the graphic cover probably is a little misleading.  Well, you are here anyways.

WEATHER

It’s clear.   It’s going to be crystal clear for the next 3 months.  So congrats to all those who signed up for a weather app for two weeks of the season.

You know that cool game they play at the ballpark where they put the helmets up on the scoreboard and you get to follow an item beneath it while they do the hat/helmet shuffle.  Your kids love it.  You love it.  Well, the point is, these three guys tonight are all favorites of me and I keep shuffling who is in the 1 hole, who’s the 2 hole and who is #3.  They’re all equal IMO.  But they’re all on a tier above the rest.

Logan Gilbert (DK: $8500)

If you are an owner of Logan Gilbert in fantasy this season you can thank me for shutting up and letting him get right last start without hyping it up once more.  But I jump back on the bandwagon here today.  Run.  Do not walk.  Run, to your bookie and place a bet on the Mariners tonight.

Logan Henderson (DK: $8200)

Good weather in Minnesota, but it should lean on the Milwaukee side against the lefty Prielipp more than trusting the Twins with “shocker” banged up Buxton and Larnach being GTD tonight.  Henderson’s change up has been great & that’s good here vs the Twins lefties – who outside of Buxton are the only guys worth considering and — yeah, they suck too.

Jacob deGrom (DK: $9500)

My Turn!  That’s what deGrom was thinking after watching Arighetti flirt with a no-hitter against his Rangers last night.

SWEET HOME, CHICAGO

God bless both sides.  Davis Martin is on a ridiculous run right now, so going heavy Cubs is stupid — but Alex Bregman is once again a guy to get 2+ hits tonight, score a run and drive in Nico Hoerner.

The White Sox have the HR upside.  Antonacci walk, Murakami homer, Vargas double, Montgomery homer.  4-0 South Side.

  • Alex Bregman
  • Munetaka Murakami
  • Colson Montgomery

SF Giants

  • Rafael Devers
  • Jung Hoo Lee
  • Matt Chapman

New York, New York…

There’s runs here as well.  Is it a clean stack spot?  Probably not.  But we know Bichette won’t walk vs Rodon, however everyone else probably could and lead to a random big game from Marcus Semien or AJ Ewing lower in the Mets order.    And yes..  $6700 Aaron Judge homers.

  • Cody Bellinger
  • Aaron Judge
  • Marcus Semien
  • AJ Ewing

Per the Dongers Club Manifesto, in Chapter 2, page 8, rule C states that no player is permitted to be The Chairman of The Dongers Club on consecutive days.  The only exceptions per C.1 is if said Chairman is the GOAT of all Chairmen himself or per C.2 it is Ryan Braun in Philadelphia.  Rule D indicates that if any other player outside of those exceptions is named the Chairman on back to back days and fails to homer on both days, he is permanently BANNED from Chairman of The Dongers Club pending an off-season review.

Well, Ryan Braun is not playing Baseball today.

And the GOAT of Chairmen has already played today.

But – despite a Saturday Night in Anaheim – we are going with an exception here.  We are giving someone one. more. shot….

REST OF SLATE THOUGHTS

  • Boston at Atlanta:  I think you get another replica of last night with a lower scoring game, but should be more men on base tonight, so too much risk on both pitchers.
